Duke kicked DB Eddie Morgan off the team (http://myespn.go.com/blogs/acc) for violating team standards. I know he had gotten in trouble earlier, and while he was only a backup, when you are thin with healthy players, everyone that you can use counts.

This is from before the VT game.. (http://heraldsun.southernheadlines.com/sports/duke/39-1023346.cfm)
"Duke's already depth-shy secondary will be without reserve Eddie Morgan, who has been suspended along with reserve defensive end Sam Poggi from all football-related activities this week "for not meeting our standards for promptness and attendance in class, et cetera,"

..so I'm hoping Sam Poggi got his affairs in order or at least showed the coaches and teachers he was on the right track. It all sounds like it's over academics.

While it's true that the team has been thinned out by injuries, I have to admire Coach Cutcliffe for taking such a stand. Discipline (which includes the self control to follow the rules) is essential to building a strong program.
