Charting Duke vs. Rhode Island

This game was a perfect example of the difficulty working with small sample sizes. Duke went on an 11-0 run with Marty Pocius in the game. Did that happen because he was in there, or did he benefit from being in the game at the right time? Who knows, but that's why it's tough to draw conclusions from these numbers. That said, they're still fun to look at. In particular, the fact that the starting lineup got outscored 23-13 is telling. And it's not all about starting slowly, because Duke was up 7-4 when the first subs came in.
