Survey Pop-Ups on DBR

While on the PP Board, I had a survey from www.insightexpress.com (something called opinion central) pop up on my screen. Is this something endorsed by DBR? Why are we getting pop-ups on the boards?

If this is a new DBR feature I highly disapprove.

I know nothing about the survey, or about DBR's advertising model.

I do know that a site that knows about its user demographic and can empirically prove it has some desireable target viewers, can demand higher advertising fees.

I'd have to guess that a demographic of brand-loyal (if you consider Duke a brand), college+-educated, web users are a pretty desirable market to reach for certain marketers.

If, by taking 5 min. to answer a survey, and viewing (and occasionally clicking on) ads that are relevant to me (made more relevant by taking the survey), I somehow help J&B keep the site running, it's no biggie to me. YMMV.
