On WRAL's message boards, I was the one who posted some of Dave Telep's (of Scout.com) comments from an interview with David Glenn regarding the play of Plumlee #1. He wasn't asked about Plumlee; rather, he was forthcoming and simply couldn't say enough good things about Plumlee. According to Telep, to nobody's surprise, the only weakness regarding Plumlee is, perhaps, his strength. But that will come with time.

Hope he's that good against ACC teams who have skilled big men.

The article briefly mentions his high school rankings. Am I remembering correctly that he had some injuries the summer before his senior year and that they might have negatively impacted his rankings? It's not really very important but it just seems a little surprising that a player ranked in the 60-70's of what many consider a weak class is getting as much positive press as he's getting. It also seems a little odd that Mason is so much more highly ranked (in a superior class no less) and yet they seem so similar in terms of talent.

All these oddities are good (at least if he develops as fast as we are now being lead to believe) but I was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the topic.

Telep ranked him 41:

Miles Plumlee sat out multiple games during his high school senior season due to injury. The Asheville Citizen-Times had some coverage in their Prep section last winter.
