JJ did well against D-Wade & the Miami Heat tonight.

Played a little over 21 minutes with 14 points (4-5 from 3-PT, but only 2-4 FT) with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. He efficiency was +26 (which I still don't get) and his closest teammate was at +10. Interesting thing happened late in the 4th quarter. Orlando started their rookie Lee, and after having missed 3 consecutive open threes with Miami closing the gap to only 5 points, Van Gundy immediately replaced him with JJ. On the very next play, JJ drilled the 3 and Orlando never looked back.

Why use Yahoo?
I hate many aspects of ESPN but this is an upgrade from Yahoo.
I will wait and see if Van Gundy and Otis Smith will really go to JJ when the season starts.

disagree. yahoo has a much cleaner look, and I find espn really hard to navigate through.

+26 simply means that while JJ was on the court Orlando outscored their opponent by 26 points.

Yep, and for a guy who the morons in Florida kept saying was a huge defensive liability and would cost them points if they put him in, that isn't so bad.

Van Gundy used the words "outstanding" to describe JJ's game. Nice!

yea and courtney lee sucked it up...what worries me is that i think JJ will play, but if he has a string of cold shooting games, even just two or three, van gundy may pull him out of the rotation, never to return...or at least not to return until someone else stinks it up...

it's nice to see what Orlando is knocking some sense into themselves. I think everyone realizes that JJ won't be a superstar in the NBA, but if the preseason is any indication, the Magic should be using him as the first 2-guard off the bench, hopefully bringing in 15-20 minutes a game. Don't get me wrong, Courtney Lee can some great ball, but I think JJ has proved himself to be a very valuable asset to this team.

I'm excited!!

He's not capable of having a string of cold shooting games. That's what makes him J.J.

I love JJ as much as the next guy, but anyone can have 2-3 cold shooting nights...especially when you are only shooting 8 shots or so, and 7 of them are from 20+ feet.

Those would be JJ's previous two games before this latest one...
