... Tyler Honeycutt announced he'll play for the Bruins.

Scout.com ranked the 6-foot-8 forward as the 21st-best prospect in the Class of 2009 after his stock soared this summer while playing for Dana and David Pump's Pump 'N Run Elite team that was based out of Los Angles and coached by former Arizona great Miles Simon. ... the Bruins now have three recruits expected to sign in November. The other two are Brendan Lane (ranked 83rd in the Class of 2009) and Reeves Nelson (ranked 89th in the Class of 2009).

Do we care about Huneycutt going to UCLA because it means we have a better chance at landing Josh Smith? I would think no, because he's a center and Huneycutt is a forward, but is there something else at play?

This guy wasn't even on Duke's radar, thus it is of no relevance to Josh Smith or Duke.

I think it is time to go back and play your PS2.

The point of the question was whether Honeycutt going to UCLA would affect Smith's decision to either go to UCLA (viewed as the favorite for him) or not.

Not to suggest Duke was involved with Honeycutt.
