The article calls Doug Collins "the finest basketball mind in the country". That may be a stretch.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Chris Collins won't be getting a gold medal if the US wins, although that's discussed in the article too.

It's a good human interest story though.

I remember hearing the story of Collins' experiene having the gold medal stolen from he and his team - in ther locker room after the game, a popular song at that time was playing: "What becomes of the broken-hearted?"

It's a good human interest story though.

Only the players get a medal. The coaches just get the fact that they coached a medal winning team. Not even Coach K will get a medal.
