They are "ranked" (more like ordered) by the number of recruits, not the quality.

But still, I'll take it!

It appears that most of the heavyweights from the SEC and ACC (with Dogfighting Tech as a notable exception) have around 10 or so recruits with an ESPN 150 watchlist designation, compared to 3 of our current recruits. Granted, a lot of these schools will suffer academic casualties and we are making terrific progress, but I would guard against unrealistic expectations. Still, respectability would be great, and feel free to talk some trash to your colleagues from football schools.

is not the "rankings" per se, which are notoriously fluid and not necessarily consistent from one service to the next.

Where the rubber meets the road in my view is in looking at which other schools had offered scholarships to the players being landed by Duke.

Glancing at the "offer" (not the in "player interested in") lists that Rivals and Scout have published for this latest round of commitments show almost all of them turning down offers from ACC, SEC or Big East schools to come to Duke. We have a much, much lower incidence than in the past of taking players whose only other offers were from the Buffalos, Richmonds and Western Carolinas.
