The 2-3-2 format makes me think it's Lakers in 5. They'll steal one at Boston and win the 3 in LA.

I went Lakers in 6, which is apparently a pretty popular guess.

Lakers in 6. I think Boston will give LA a better series than most expect but the reality is that Kobe knows a good chunk of his legacy is on the line and I expect him to play accordingly.

You know how on Senior Day the end of the bench seniors get to start the game, then come out after about a minute?

I think it would be a cool marketing thing to do to suit up Magic Johnson and Larry Bird and have them play the first minute of the first game to honor storied rivalry.

It could also be hilarious. What if they did that and the guys actually scored a few?

Have you seen Magic on TV? He looks like he's over 300 pounds these days. I know he's scrimmaged with the Mich St. team in the past, but I don't know if he can still do that at the NBA level.

The NBA had an All-Star game gimmick a few years back in which they had a 3-on-3 game involving a women's player, a current men's pro, and a legend. The legends were Dominique Wilkins and Magic Johnson. It was less than riveting stuff. I'm pretty sure that a 48 year old Magic would not be able to function at the NBA level.

    I know Dennis Johnson isn't.

"Bird steals it!......to Johnson....and the Celtics win it!"

Bird made the great steal and pass, but Johnson made a great shot. That was no simple lay-up. It was a tough angle.

    Go Celtics!

91_92_01, billybreen, Dukiedevil, jipops, weezie all lose... oh and myself too

The Lakers will have to win all 3 at home. IIRC they are still undefeated at home in the playoffs, so we'll see how this plays out.

I think David Stern will make sure they win at least 2 at home.
