I am hungary, What should I eat?

I'm in Wilmington NC, I need food, and I need good food. I am about to starve to death.

I can buy anything, or make anything. What should I eat?

If you are Hungary, you should eat Austria.

Go to Heironymus Seafood restaurant at 5035 Market St. Anything on the menu will be well prepared and delicious. If you want to fix it yourself, maybe their seafood market will be open... almost next door to Bridge Tender Restaurant, just before the drawbridge to Wrightsville Beach.

When I read the thread title, my first impression was to take the Sudetenland. You were here first. Well played.

The correct answer is Chicken Paprikash!!

    YUMM!

The real question is: If you are Hungary, what should you drink?

Devildeac? Got an answer? How about this?

If you are thirsty, should drink. If you are Hungary, the REAL obvious answer is that you should eat Chile.

No tastee Hungarian beers. A couple Czech beers but no Hungarians.

Wouldn't Turkey be the more obvious choice? Or, perhaps, Chile?

Darn, missed Turkey. But, I beat you to Chile. Perhaps, they could eat turkey chili(e). Just as long as it did not have too much Greece.

I thought he wanted a Hapsburg Sandwich. Delicious to eat with your feet up on an Ottoman.

Thumbs up Yum, making ME hungry

I agree with Devil/Blue Dress that Heironymus Seafood is a great place to chow down. However, if you can prepare for yourself, my suggestions are as follows:

Start with a few dozen Clams on the Half Shell (my favorite food on the planet)

Follow with a fabulous Caesar Salad (please include anchovies and use Balsamic Vinegar)

Entree: have a great grilled halibut, Atlantic Salmon, another fresh fish as well, or Filet Mignon (RARE, please) a try.

With a loaded Baked Potato, or Garlic/cheese Mashed . (with fixin's)

    And some steamed local veges.

For dessert ( if desired) -- apt for cheese & fruit. Whatever is local & fresh. ... and a snifter of Cognac.

Wish I could be there. Blessings.

For a good quick meal at home you can't go wrong with a Fried Bologna Sandwich!

Right sentiment...but boy is that recipe a long long way from the real thing!!! (First mistake is low fat...must have real sour cream! onions browned in butter) now I am hungry for cooking from Hungary. Fortunately I think I can whip up some Paprikash this weekend!

Unfortunately, I've hit that point in life where I have to watch out on the real thing. Given that devildeac is a cardiologist, I figured the recipe is an adequate solution.

My daughter also did a report on Hungary & Paprika earlier this school year. She liked the chicken. I've also hit that point in life where you make sacrifices to get the kid to try ethnic foods.

    1. You are right to be concerned-the food and health police are ALWAYS watching you.
    2. kids? ethnic food? that usually means FRENCH fries, HAMBURGers, chili/e, TURKEY sandwiches, and, well, you get the idea.
