Shav - Political and Party Animal?

Seems like Shav was in a small group of Sixers out partying at Butter in NYC when pornstar turned gubernatorial candidate Marey Carey got a hold of Jason Smith, wrapped her legs around him and started making out. Now she's bragging about it and Smith seems embarrassed.

Just seemed odd that Shav would be going to an apparently well know NYC night spot with a group that would be partying like that.

What's up with Shav and the Sixers these days? He's had very, very little playing time this year. Injury problems or just buried at the end of the bench? I thought he might develop into a serviceable NBA player.

Good question, and I missed a chance to find out last week. After eating at Reading Terminal last week (see the Philly Cheese Steak thread on the OT board), I met Billy King and his wife and daughter as they were walking out after lunch. I said hello, introduced myself and chatted for a minute, but forgot to ask him about Shav. Thought about it 2 minutes later. Dang!

I did ask Billy what he was doing now, and he said "TV". I guess he meant commentating and not watching!

Billy is rumored to be in the mix to work for Walsh with the Knicks (Nix?). He would be the personel man.

because he was injured badly last year and never got back into the rotation. recurring theme in the nba. you get about 1 shot unless you are a guy tabbed as someone with "potential." the nba loves potential. if you aren't, good luck getting back in.

I saw Billy King doing NBA analysis on that show that Alaa Abdelnaby was/is hosting on NBA TV. He gave some pretty good insight from what I could tell.
