I agree with the disgust - how is it that NASA overperforms (these rovers were supposed to last 3-6 months, not 3 years) and are rewarded with budget cuts?

NASA has been told that their $20 million bux to run both rovers has to be cut by 40%. That means one has to say goodnight. That's flat out disgusting, in my opinion, when you think about how much our government spends to do whatever we are doing in Iraq each month. Whatever the cost is, I bet if everyone there took one day off from doing whatever it is that they do once a month, then we would save at least twice that much ($20 million ) every 30 days. And the rovers would keep on roving through a few more dust storms.
