    Would you rather

    A- Be a number 1 seed and lose to a number 16 or win the NIT ?

    B- Be a number 2 seed and lose to a number 15 or win the NIT ?

    a. win the NIT - your going to be legendary in a bad way if you lose to a 16 seed.
    b. lose as a 2nd seed - this you can recover from.

    It's always best to at least make the Big Dance as opposed to the NIT, regardless of the outcome of either. True, if Duke were to lose as a #1 or #2 in the first round or two of the Big Dance, it would result in historically bad press. However, to be in the NIT at Duke is even worse.

    I'd go with these choices for the exact same reasons.
