    Bench Scoring

Last year Duke averaged 17ppg from the bench. I believe that was last in the ACC.

This year Duke is averaging over 30ppg from the bench and is tops in the ACC. It's huge for Duke to get this type of output from the bench. The one game Duke lost the bench combined for 8 points(Scheyer 4, King 3 and, McClure 1).

Last night the bench had 27(Scheyer 13, Smith 12 and, Thomas 2) and with King not scoring at all. Not to mention Dukes Bench had MORE assists then the starters did (8 bench vs. 6 starters).

To me this is Dukes biggest weapon. The starters play as hard as they can then go rest and we dont lose much with the bench players coming in.

The bench scoring is even more impressive when you factor in Brian Zoubek's 4.3 ppg (12 games). Hopefully, Zoubek is ready to play soon.

    I also like the balanced scoring: Nelson 14.3; Henderson 13.1; Singler 13.1; Scheyer 11.4; Paulus 9.1; King 9.1; & Smith 6.4.

Smith has looked very impressive recently and I expect his contributions to rise.
