Georgetown. They have the best defense in the region.

    Confidence factor: 60%.

My heart definitely says Hoya Saxa, baby, but I'd lie if I didn't admit to some worry about UNC/Texas or even BC . . .

Georgetown will not survive to the final 8! Take it to the bank.

No way am I going with UNC, and from everything I heard yesterday, Georgetown looks like the upset pick!

Yeah, I'm nervous about that as well. Their style of play can keep inferior teams in games. I hope BC knocks of TTU because I could see the Red Raiders getting hot from three and beating the Hoyas.

I hate to admit it but...

I just don't see Georgetown beating UNC if they meet.

HOYA SAXA 4 EVA! We are Georgetown.

Yeah, I think this sets up well for G-town, although I'm banking on Carolina finding a way to lose prior to the E8 (most likely, to Texas)... if they make it that far, I think they get past the Hoyas.

I'm looking for someone who can (as DBR put it) "punk" Kerlina, but I'm not sure there is anyone, at least in the top half of the bracket.

Carolina will win the east because they can put more talent on the floor than either Texas or Georgetown. They will wear their opponents down with depth, but it is their level of talent that will be the difference in the end.

Guess why I made this choice

It is difficult not to pick Duke to win, purely as an emotional gesture this year, I realize-but it is also so delicious to pick UNC to lose.

Carolina is too inconsistent to win the region.

If they play Texas, who is going to stop Durant?

G'town is a better team than either Texas or UNC, in my opinion.

So my pick goes to Georgetown.

I think Tyler Hansbrough is in for a surprise when he faces players like Durant and Hibbert, who aren't afraid to push back against all the contact Mr. Nosey creates. Georgetown over Texas in a classic regional final.

with Texas as a close second. I've got Texas v Georgetown in the final 8. Durant and Augustin could give the Heels fits.

I think that the Texas game will actually work well for UNC. Texas isn't all that deep, but they're willing to get into running games anyway. Anyone who watched the Kansas game on Sunday saw how tired Durant was in the later parts. UNC will just send waves of players on the floor and push the tempo. As good as Durant may be, he can't carry Texas to a win.
