Gene was a big reason I went to Duke, and having lost a parent this time last year, I wish him well. It is obviously a very tough time.

Always sad to lose a parent. I knew his mother slightly--she used to let my girl friend (now my wife) into the dorm late--once she knew I had gone to Duke and avidly followed Duke basketball. A very gracious lady.
