You mean "Peachtree" streets. If you bash, at least be correct.

Next thing you know, you'll tell us you like Coca-Cola and the Home Depot.

Actually, my religion prevents me from listening to hip hop. You see, I pray to the Gods of Rock as well as the God to whom the Gods of Rock themselves pray - Chuck Berry. As Bob Seger once said "All of Chuck's children are out there playing his licks" and, to me his music, and that of those playing his licks, is akin to the Apostles' Creed.

The Gods of Rock expressly prohibit their followers from listening to hip hop. If we are accidentally exposed to it (ie. at a bar or a party) we must cleanse ourselves by listening, at the first opportunity, to any band approved of by the Gods of Rock.

OK, mostly I hate hip hop.

This is the second music related post in a row for me, although in different threads.

By the way, I'm doing another marathon in two weeks, the Boston Theater Marathon. I'm directing one of the plays (no, they didn't pick one of mine AGAIN) what is with those people. I've got rehearsal tonight. I'd tell Boston area peeps to come out but it's a pricey ticket. Wait until they do one of my plays.

My appreciation for hip hop is limited to the Hiphopopotamus.

Two more days until BUSINESS TIME!

I liked some of the older groups, think Young MC, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash...

Does anybody else ever get 'Boogie Fever'?

Sigh. I miss my 45s. They were all in my car when it was stolen a month after I moved to Boston. My apartment was robbed less than a week after I moved to Boston. It's a wonder I stayed. I had Rick Dees recording of 'Disco Duck' (hey, I was 12 when I bought it). I miss having it though. I also had 'Blinded by the Light' and Rod Stewart's 'The First Cut is the Deepest', I loved that song but I think I like Sheryl Crow's cover even better.

One of the few 45s that wasn't in my car at the time was the Bay City Rollers 'Saturday Night'. I may have to go listen to that now.

Keep on dancin' to the rock and roll!

But do you have every episode marked with 'Do Not Delete' status on your TiVo?

It's a fine line between "fan" and "fanatic," my friend.

If this thread gets long enough, EVERYTHING will be referenced at least three times.

Sorry, I am still bitter about "Taste of Honey" beating "the Police" for the best new artist Grammy.

    Cheers,

I have a "Pure Disco" CD in my collection. It doesn't contain the songs you mentioned, but it does have Lipps, Inc version of 'Funkytown'.

Agree about the Sheryl Crow cover of 'The First Cut is the Deepest'.

But you know the Best New Artist grammy is the kiss of death don't you? Starland Vocal Band, A Taste of Honey, Milli Vanilli, do you really want The Police hanging out in that kind of compary. Elvis Costello was nominated for Best New Artist for Spike, it's a bogus award that I would be ashamed to win.

Get on up, on the floor,
cause we're gonna boogie oogie oogie till we just can't boogie no more

    C'mon Lavabe, dance with me.

Although it might be hard to believe from my latest posts, not everything I listen to is crap. But some of it is and I love it.

I still hate Fleetwood Mac. And Neil Young. I'd rather have my eyelashes pulled out than listen to Neil Young.
