I'm on a business trip and have not had the time to keep up with college basketball although I was able to watch the 2nd half and overtime last night. One thought - the defense was not great by any means but some credit should be given to the great passing by the State big men and point guard. As a result of only watching part of one game, I really enjoyed Al Featherston's summary of last night's action. Better than most newspapers by a big margin.

Al referred to a Terps team coached by Gene Shue. As an old timer I go back a long way but I don't ever recall Gene Shue coaching the Terps. He was a great player for them in the 50's (before I started watching); a fine player with the Pistons and was coach of the Bullets for many years. I'll defer to some ACC history buffs but I suspect Al meant to refer to Bud Milliken's championship.
