Job Requirements Duke University’s news office seeks a seasoned editor who can write and edit at the highest level for both journalistic and academic audiences, design and produce a weekly HTML newsletter for the Duke community and co-edit a monthly campus events guide.
Responsibilities include editing releases, features, op-eds, video stories, etc.; managing copy flow; working with freelancers and designers; assisting leadership with special projects; responding to information requests about Duke.

Journalistic experience is essential – this is NOT just a copy-editing job. Preferred qualifications include five years of senior editing experience at a newspaper or broadcast station, including the editing of science stories. Additional experience in an academic environment and with HTML/multimedia a plus.
