Haha the Big Ten/ACC Challenge could be an easy win for the ACC yet again.

Findlay is ranked fifth in the Division II polls... they led nearly the entire game.

    Which will happen first?

    1) The Big Ten wins the Big Ten-ACC challenge.
    2) The ACC goes 11-0 in it.

    My vote's for 2.

If it wasn't for the Georgia Tech/Indiana matchup I'd say it might happen this year. The next biggest scare might have been NC State/Mich St but that seems promising after the Grand Valley Fiasco. The ACC should easily win this year.

After my previous post I got curious. The Big Ten for some reason doesn't have, or didn't allow, a formal pre-season media poll (despite having one for their women), but I found an "Unauthorized media poll" and used those rankings. So here's how the matchups break down with the teams' pre-season conference rankings.

    #1 UNC #3 Ohio St
    #2 Duke #4 Wisconsin
#3 NC State #1 Michigan St
    #4 Clemson #5 Purdue
    #5 Virginia #11 Northwestern
    #6 Maryland #6 Illinois
    #7 Georgia Tech #2 Indiana
    #8 Boston Coll #8 Michigan
    #9 Florida St #9 Minnesota
#10 Virg Tech #7 Penn St
    #11 Wake Forest #10 Iowa

As a University of Findlay Alum this made me very happy. Just a note Findlay is consistantly one of the top DII programs around and we had a kid on our team that played started for the Cincinnati Roger Bacon team that knocked off LeBron James' HS team his junior year.

Findlay was #1 two years ago and was knocked off in the final 8. When I was in school there, Findlay was NAIA and we went into Bowling Green (coached at that time by Jim Larranaga of George Mason fame) and beat them. It was pretty cool to run onto the court after that one.

    From a Findlay Resident

Findlay should have a great D-II season this year and does have a solid program. It must have been a bit of a slap in the face for Ohio's all-time leading scorer Jon Diebler of OSU as he went to high school in nearby Upper Sandusky. With that said, OSU should never lose to them like Michigan State should never lose to Grand Valley State. Even worse, while it's never good to lose, it sure seemed like OSU was trying to win by playing its starters for a good bit of the game. Looks like another easy win of the ACC/Big 10 Challenge
(if you can call it a challenge).
