Look out for Fowler. Charging early, -3 through 5. I'm sure I've jinxed him, of course.

Team Green charging into the weekend with five golfers:

    Tommy Fleetwood -5 T4
    Rickie Fowler -3 T11
    Luke List -2 T14
    Charley Hoffman -1 T19
    Francesco Molinari E T29
    Dustin Johnson +6 Missed Cut

Golfers positioning might change as there are still players on the course but I have five of six players who will play the weekend.

The change in cut line treated Team CDu well. The +3 line means all of my 8 are still alive:

    Zach Johnson (T1)
    Fleetwood (T3)
    Schauffele (T3)
    McIlroy (T7)
    Noren (T19)
    Woods (T29)
    Cabrera Bello (T53)
    Stenson (T66)

I'd be smiling if I were either of you.

Halfway done and there is no question CDu has to be in the lead. 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 7th, and 19th... dayum!

    I've got a 3rd, a pair of 29ths, and a 66th... everyone else missed the cut. Blech!
Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

    My squad:

    Fleetwood (T3)
    Fowler (T11)
    Molinari (T29)
    Leishman (T52)
    Rose (T65)
    Knox (Cut)

I'm out of it as my best chances to win (Fleetwood and Folwer) are on a lot of other teams but my supporting cast is not likely to give me downballot help. Hoping for a crazy moving day tomorrow

6 in the top 18 and 7 in top 40 - and managed to misspell both names for the one guy who missed the cut....

My showing is very strong, but I'll be trailing CDU heading to the weekend...

A lot of golf to go. I will feel much better about my chances if things are comparable after tomorrow’s round. Moving day can be interesting.

DJ will have some work to do to be able to play on the weekend.

Woods had a really nice round going, then found a few fairway bunkers. That's the one big no-no on this course (well, that and finding the berms). It's basically a one-stroke penalty each time, and Woods bogeyed on those occasions. That and a 3-putt and you wind up counterbalancing your 3 birdies for the round.

    Looking forward to tomorrow's play.
I hate to be that guy but...

    It's burns.

I'm a bit of an anglophile, and The Open is my favorite tournament. Especially when Peter Alliss commentates. I had a busy week and regrettably wasn't able to get into the contest.

    From this helpful article https://thegolfnewsnet.com/golfnewsn...nship-110239/:

"Technically speaking, a burn is different from a stream or a river, but it's a similar concept. On the links land connecting the sea to the mainland, wind moved sand and grasses over time, allowing water to flow in little streams to and from the sea. As golf courses were developed and became a regular place of play in the 19th century, many of these small rivers were made permanent with stone walls to keep them in place and make them a constant part of the golf course. In effect, a burn is the conversion of a temporary stream to a permanent one. Courses were built around burns for a challenge, back when it was difficult to move earth."

And as Kate McKinnon would say in character: "And that's a Ginsburn!"

Pleased with where I’m standing. All 9 of mine made the cut. And I’ve got 1, 3, 6, 11, 11, and 14 among them. Keep your eye on the rearview mirror, CDu.

Nice! I don’t even think rearview mirror is appropriate. I think you are winning right now! I guess it will come down to how McIlroy, Schauffele, and Noren do compared with Fowler, Kuchar, Chappell, and Oleson. Unlikely that Leischman or Cabrera Bello move the needle, and we have the same other four guys at the top, middle, and bottom. You have an extra dart, while I have a stroke up. Should be fun!

Pretty happy with Zach Johnson, DeChambeau, not so much.
    After the second round:

    T11 R.Fowler
    T6 Rory
    T3 Fleetwood
    T29 Molanari
    T65 DeChambeau
    T29 Tiger
    T1 Z.Johnson

    1,3,6,11 - not too bad

It's moving day at The Open and some early movement is taking place:

Yusaku Miyazato is -4 through 10 holes moving up 47 places.
Chris Wood is -3 through 5 holes moving up 34 places.
Patrick Reed is -3 through 12 holes moving up 34 places.
Justin Rose is -3 through 11 holes moving up 34 places.

I suspect it is going to be an exciting day in Carnoustie.

Chris Wood shoots a 31 (-5) on the front 9 then birdies 10 to go -6 for the day. However, a misplaced tee shot on 11 has him facing a tough second shot.

Watching major championship golf at 7:30 am is fun.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow when the wind picks up. Does that make me a cruel person?

Between soccer, tennis, and golf overseas, there has been a lot of early sporting.
