    NBA Draft collector thread

So, this thread should not be for guys declaring or not for the draft. It should be for conversation about what various teams do with their picks and stuff like that.

To start things off, the NB A today tossed coins to break several ties for various playoff spots. For example, Dallas and Atlanta were tied for the #3 pick and San Antonio and Minnesota were tied for the #18 pick. Dallas won the toss and so did SA... which means Atlanta lost 2 coin flips today because they own Minnesota's pick already. Lucky Hawks!

So, here is the full 2018 draft order (pending the lottery jumbling the top 3 picks)

    1. Phoenix
    2. Memphis
    3. Dallas
    4. Atlanta
    5. Orlando
    6. Chicago
    7. Sacramento
    8. Cleveland (via Nets)
    9. New York Knicks
    10. Philadelphia (via Lakers)
    11. Charlotte
    12. LA Clippers (via Pistons)
    13. LA Clippers
    14. Denver
    (lottery ends)
    15. Wizards
    16. Suns (via Heat)
    17. Bucks
    18. Spurs
    19. Hawks (via Wolves)
    20. Wolves (via Thunder)
    21. Jazz
    22. Bulls (via Pelicans)
    23. Pacers
    24. Blazers
    25. Lakers (via Cavs)
    26. 76ers
    27. Celtics
    28. Warriors
    29. Nets (via Raptors)
    30. Hawks (via Rockets)

Was there a particular reason that you did cities in the lottery and then mascots below the lottery?
Just be you. You is enough. - K, 4/5/10, 0:13.8 to play, 60-59 Duke.

You're all jealous hypocrites. - Titus on Laettner

You see those guys? Animals. They're animals. - SIU Coach Chris Lowery, on Duke

Props to Danny Ainge and the Celtics for correctly betting that a non-tanking team like the Nets would finish with a better record than tanking teams, although it did look dicey at times. There were famously 8 tanking teams this season, and the only one the Nets didn't finish above was New York, which didn't start tanking until after Porzingis went down with a season-ending injury.

The Nets pick (as part of the Kyrie trade) could still land in the top 3 for Cleveland, but there's only a 10% chance of that happening now. That asset is still good to have but it's not nearly as valuable as originally presumed when the Kyrie trade went down. Unless that 10% scenario hits, we're talking about taking a Wendell Carter in the draft instead of a Luka Doncic.
