Season Duke individual dunk stats, after 12 games:

    Marvin Bagley: 30
    Wendell Carter: 19
    Javin DeLaurier: 9

    Trevon Duval: 7
    Marques Bolden: 5

Well obviously this is why we lost the game. Gotta feed the beast. Sort of kidding but probably more true than not why we lost this one.

I'm hoping Marvin and the rest of the team realize it's hard for him to dunk when he's playing on the perimeter like this last game. GoDuke!

I believe that both Marvin's 5 and Wendell's 4 are season highs for those players.

None dunks? That’s a little unfair to Carter and Bags.

Six dunks vs. Wake, ALL by Marvin. That ties his season high (6, vs. Texas).

Season Duke individual dunk stats, after 17 games:

    Marvin Bagley: 49
    Wendell Carter: 27
    Javin DeLaurier: 10
    Grayson Allen: 9
    Trevon Duval: 7
    Marques Bolden: 6

Just for comparison, the all-time single-season record for team dunks is 162 (4.15 per game). We're on pace to crush that.

If Duke plays 3 ACCT games and 3 NCAAT games (and I hope we play more NCAAT games), then Wendell is on pace to get 59 dunks, which would put him 6th on the Duke single-season list. If he can manage to get to 62 dunks, that would put him 3rd on the all-time list. 65 dunks would get him to 2nd.

Except he would be one spot below any of those, because Marvin Bagley is his teammate. Tonight Marvin reached 10th on the Duke single-season dunk list (passing Grant Hill's 48 dunks in 1992). If we play 37 games, Marvin is on pace for 107 dunks, a full 20 more than Mason Plumlee's single-season Duke record of 87 dunks in 2013. For what it's worth, if Marvin gets 107 dunks this season, it will put him in 7th place in Duke's career dunk list, one behind Gerald Henderson's 6th place, 108 dunk performance accomplished in three seasons. Carlos Boozer's 5th place on the career list (116) may be in reach. It's hard to imagine Marvin can pass Grant Hill's 4th place, 135 dunk career, but we can dream, I guess.

Five dunks vs. Miami, 3 by Wendell and one each for Marvin and Grayson.

FWIW, Miami outdunked us today, with Seven. Six of those dunks were by that Huell guy. Which would impress me, if I were impressed by things like that.

Season Duke individual dunk stats, after 18 games:

    Marvin Bagley: 50
    Wendell Carter: 30
    Javin DeLaurier: 10
    Grayson Allen: 10
    Trevon Duval: 7
    Marques Bolden: 6
    Gary Trent: 1
    Alex O'Connell: 1
    Jack White: 1

Total team dunks: 116 (6.4 dunks per game)

Prior to last night's game, Duke had an image on Instagram that had season dunk totals for Marvin and the team. They had Marvin with 49 (like you), but the team with 112 (one more than you had)... wonder who's wrong haha. FWIW, I'm going with you on accuracy

Wasn't there a Justin Robinson dunk that didn't get counted.

Justin did have a sort-of dunk in one game, early. But he kind of bobbled it over the rim and the official box called it a layup. All my numbers come from the official box score. I suppose if the the official scorer makes a change after I look at the box score, it wouldn't be reflected here.

Box scores still reflect 116 through Miami (so 111 pre-Miami).

Also, FWIW, box scores reflect 52 opponent dunks through Miami (46 pre-Miami) so the 'gram seems wrong on both counts.

Five dunks vs. Notre Dame: 2 by Wendell and one each by Marvin, Grayson, and (of course) Jack.

Today we moved to second all-time on the Duke team season dunk list, behind only 1999 (162 or 163, depending on source). And January hasn't even ended yet.

Season Duke individual dunk stats, after 22 games:

    Marvin Bagley: 59

    Grayson Allen: 12
    Javin DeLaurier: 11
