It's not looking good. I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet but I am doing a little pie research.

FWIW, I was fond of mud pies as a kid. And by mud I do mean dirt and water...and no I didn't eat them.

We can call it before Labor Day, now that Dunkirk has passed Pirates. I don't believe any of the standings are going to change after today. Most importantly, no one finished 0/5.

Congrats accfanfrom1970, DUKIECB, and killerleft for having the guts to pick a WWII movie...I didn't think it could go the distance. Little did I realize how much Cars 3, Transforms and Pirates would completely suck.

To be fair, Cars 3 didn't completely suck...but the first one wasn't good and the second one did totally suck, thus dooming the third. (And any slim chance that I had.)

To be fair I didn't really think of my pick as a WWII movie, I was purely thinking "Christopher Nolan" movie.

Same here, I was banking on Nolan. The other movies just felt old and tired and I thought if it was done right it could be the sleeper hit. Lucky for me it was.

I need to check the mailbox as I don't seem to recall receiving my prize money check yet.

I can correct that, but my Nigerian backer much prefers to do a direct deposit into accounts, so if you'll PM me your bank account and routing number I'll make sure that gets taken care of.

Thanks! But, for me, it was as easy as taking the consensus top four from the other voters and adding the movie I WANTED to be a success. So, everybody gets a pat on the back, but none of the lucrative prizes I'll receive for this big win!

I wasn't so lucky with Hacksaw Ridge last year.

I have good news... if you take last year's prize and multiply it by 35 then that is the size of this year's prize money. Yup, 35x!!! WOW!

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

I did get a chance to see the Hitman's Bodyguard and while it was a completley mindless and exceedingly predicatable, it was quite enjoyable.

I'd say it is pretty clear even this early. PM away and put your pie eating bib on.

Passing the $50 million mark this weekend. There isn't much in the theaters right now and no big release this weekend.

    Only $40 million to go!

Saw "IT" with my nephew and nieces today. They were up from Florida avoiding Irma. We all loved it. My favorite parts were all the 80s nostalgia, right down to brat pack references. I was 14 in 1989 afterall.

Yeah, I really liked it, too. Thought it would've been better (and scarier) had they opted to forego a lot of those jump scares, or at least telegraphing them so much. But it was still a really enjoyable movie, with an appealing cast. I will look forward to part two.
