Played a lot in college, and periodically would pick up a Chas's magazine to work on a particular defense.

Liked to play the Kara-Cann Denense a fair bit, but it leads to a long game. Usually e2-4 when White.

Not a strategy expert, but I believe the defense you are talking about, OPK, is actually called Caro-Kann. (Then again, it is deFense, not DeNense, so it was probably a typo, an autocorrect, or a dictated post.)

I play, and am pretty good. It's been a while since I played, but I once beat a fella named Aubrey Baker, who won some kind of chess state title in SC. If I have a problem, it's that I am kind of impatient..lol Not a good thing in this game.

there's always bullet chess if you're not into waiting for your opponent to move.
