Think you have visited Chapel Hill once too often
I had a dream last night about someone living in a home in a secret room unknown to the owners. No threat, just someone trying to get by.
In a possibly lucid moment I began to wonder how one would accomplish this. What would one need to be able to live long term a secret place?
The space – A secret room Under the stairs. (Isn’t it always?)
A toilet – I assumed this into existence.
An entrance – I dreamt up an outside entrance on an alleyway and there is access to the home's interior.
Light – It just existed.
That’s about as far as I got while dreaming. So, What else would be necessary?

What on earth did you have for dinner that brought that on?
I think you need an owl to communicate with others.
I have space for a room under my stairs. I'd like to use it for storage. I need to reframe the staircase. I do have extra tile from when my house was built.
The dream had to be sponsored by UPS.
I have dreams about logistics and organization all the time. Must be work carryover.
Read Sue Grafton's "Y". The bedding seemed pretty uncomfortable, but what would you expect from a crawlspace?
Actually you wouldn't need any of those things. A good old fashioned Dissociative Identity Disorder, according to a note left by some guy claiming to live under the stairs though i can find no other evidence of such, would provide you with everything. By the way, did you ever have a baby sitter named Sybil? Always looking for proteges, she was.
