    Thanks.

Today is going to be a quiet Thanksgiving though as I'm still recovering from the Van Halen show last night. Well, not so much from the show (which was amazing) as from the pre- and post-show drinks.

My brother went to the concert opener in Charlotte a couple of weeks ago. He sent pictures from The Observer. My first thought was that it looked like Sting and John Couger Mellencamp had hooked up to form a band.

I've heard great reviews so far though.

Sting and the boys are currently touring, I will see them in a few weeks. Van Halen is a possiblity for me, but with the Police and Springsteen on the road, there is only so much time and money allocated...

That reminds me, overheard while walking around in S.F. this past Saturday:
"You know Columbus was actually German?"
I am aware of the controversy over Columbus's nationality, but I found this amusing since Germany is NOT one of those countries claiming him. IIRC it didn't even exist as a single country back then but maybe a historian can correct me.

No, it did not exist as a unified country back then.
