Jeremy from SportsNight has to be on that list. On currently, Hiro from Heroes. Going back a ways, Frasier from Cheers, and Niles from Frasier. Arvid from Head of the Class. Dr Bunson Honeydew from The Muppet Show. Bill Nye, the science guy. Dr. Rodney McKay Stargate SG-1/Atlantis. And Sam Becket from Quantum Leap. And I'll intentionally not mentioned a funny eared character from some TV show from way way back in the day.

No Bll Nye, The Science Guy?

    As for the Simpsons characters:

    Lisa is a geek
    Frink is a nerd
    CBG and Milhouse are dorks

If you're wondering about Artie Ziff, he's a dweeb

I like Jeremy and I miss Sports Night.

For me the all time best nerd is Angus MacGyver.

Geeks and nerds, dweebs and dorks, oh my!
They've been added, although.... who is Artie Ziff? From the Simpsons, right? The former flame of Marge's

Hope this pic isn't too big

He's some rich tech guy who comes in once in awhile to court Marge. Apparently they dated in high school or something.

You can throw Sideshow Bob into the nerd category as well.

Why Mulder and not Scully? She was the geekier of the two!

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

    A BillyBreen is all three

YmoBeThere is high on the nerd scale with very a very strong dork quotient. However, not passionate enough about anything to get my geek(uhhhm, Star Trek)card.

Yeah, I've fallen through quite a few geek compulsions: Tolkien, Linux, Mac, games, Robert Jordan. The list goes on longer than I care to mention.
More: Charles Stross, Vernor Vinge, Singularity, please make it stop

You mention Frazier from Cheers, and forget the nerdiest of them all, his beloved Lillith? Actually, their joint love-child, Frederick, probably tops them both.

Does James Wilson from House count?

Again, I think Mr. Peabody best fits this definition.
