    Gentlemen of the DBR

    I need Christmas assistance!

Are these heinous? For a lawyer who wears conservative suits but loves crazy socks:

Nothing incites bodily violence quicker than a Duke fan turning in your direction and saying 'scoreboard.'

If it says Duke on it, it's all good from where I sit.

As a lawyer, I am not sure I should heed the call to "gentlemen," but my take is that they are quite conservative. While shoes are on, the "Duke" will not show, and only solid blue will show above the ankle unless legs are crossed in view of others. They are poorly designed, as the first message to be revealed will be "Durham, N.C."

The color makes it difficult to wear with many suits other than grey.

Not too shabby. I'll send you my address via PM...

I think they'd work with gray or navy suits.

I refuse to wear solid socks of any color at any time. Like, I exercise in argyles. And these are not heinous at all; in fact, I'd agree with BD80's assertion that they're both rather tame and poorly designed.

The argyles aren't the problem, it is the plaid pajama pants with the striped t-shirt ...

I swear there is a guy at my gym that wears that exact combination, down to the argyles

Despite receiving a super excellent thumbs up message, I'm still kind of meh.

Perhaps it's time for me to emulate the dopey kardashian brother and begin designing socks.

Very nice -- I would wear them, and I tend to dress conservatively.

He wears crazy socks to work? They won't go with much, and I'm color blind.

Of course, Johnny Dawkins wore lavender socks with a nice dark gray suit/black oxfords once upon a time, so what do I know!

Gentleman's clothing "rules" say socks must match pants so that combo might work.

I vote a "no" on expecting him to wear them (1)
But vote a "yes" on the socks being a decent gift (2)

1: not a suitable color nor a particularly fashionable layout
2: unique sock and shows that you were thinking about that person in particular when buying the gift

The real reason I'm in this thread, though, is because the title led me to believe that you were auditioning members to make a special calendar

I wear wild socks as often as I can (not a lawyer).

Guessing these should be fine and will really just come across as a bold blue sock.

The ugliest pair of Duke socks look better than the finest pair of Carolina socks.

I can say this with certainty because those are the ugliest pair of Duke socks I've ever seen. So order them. You hate this lawyer, right?

    That link has an image:

it's the only appealing heel I've seen in a very long time.

It's always good to see Duke sock it to the heel(s)

I wouldn't wear them to work, but would thank Mrs. OPK for the thoughtful gift.

But socks are not a "thing" with me so I may be the wrong one to ask.

I previously purchased that very pair of argyles, only to find that they were way too small. I couldn't even begin to cram my feet into them. They look nice, but I ended up giving them to my wife. Just a heads up.
