    My new plates!

    "wait a second...I live in Iowa now...I bet I can find Duke plates that aren't taken now that I'm not in NC!!!"

    You should be good to go in Iowa. But if you're in Miami, FL or Cleveland, OH, somebody may think you pull for Duke Johnson, the excellent running back who played for the 'Canes and plays for the Browns. -Johnson County, I know.

    HA! I am reminded of the time that my step-dad put a "Duke Parent" sticker on his truck, circa 1995. One of his employees became irate that his boss would flaunt a "David Duke for President" bumper sticker.

    When I matriculated Duke in 1984 my proud NY Mom put the customary Duke sticker on her car's back windshield. The next time she went to our neighborhood gas station the owner said to her, "Wow, you must really love John Wayne!"
