I didn't want to start a whole another thread... Another Big12 coach in the news, and this guy didn't even need a controversial columnist to bash his own players (ok, "critical opinions").

[Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione has] been running a secretive, $1,200-per year newsletter where he provided Texas A&M "boosters" with insider team info including injury reports and critical opinions on certain players.
This would seem to have serious gambling implications if he makes injury information available to select people but not to the general public.
I cannot imagine the NCAA will take kindly to a coach selling inside info for $1200 a pop.

"Come after me! I'm a man! I'm 40!"
LOL...this whole rant still gets me.
Apparently this is a little more widespread than I had realized.
For $40 you can get candid assessment of VT players from the coaching staff as well as insider injury information. Of course, I bet there are 11 other ACC football teams that subscribe to the site.
Disgusting. Makes you wonder how much big rollers pay to get the info just a bit earlier.
