I watched some of the first half and I thought Parker looked pretty good. He is definitely out of shape. I keep waiting to see a lean Parker play basketball. Maybe that will happen this fall.

Did you watch the game? - he was clearly fatigued in the second half and looked out of it during stretches. The point wasn't that he's not going to be a great NBA player. Just that he needs to get in shape because he looked much worse in the second half when he appeared gassed.

I didn't see the game, and am not entirely surprised he may have run out of gas in the fourth quarter, but apparently Jabari shot 5 for 11 for the game, for 17 points and 9 rebounds (plus an assist and a steal).

    One account I read stated:

It was an impressive showing for the No. 2 pick. He finished at the rim like a veteran and was able to use both hands well. Parker was the ball handler and roll man in pick-and-roll situations, so he's showing he can play both forward spots. On the downside, he did look a little lost on defense.
Which sounds pretty consistent with his time at Duke.

Like I said, I didn't see the game, and I'm not disagreeing with your assessment. Just pointing out it wasn't all bad.

P.S.: At the same time, Noah Vonleh apparently missed all 13 of his shots from the field in his game and missed both his free throw attempts. At least he was consistent.

He should have stayed at Duke (tongue in check). After all a Duke education is worth more than 24 million USD!

    A wonderful day of basketball!

It was nice to see Andre get hot. He had some great passes, took it to the rim a couple of times, pump faked and drove for a pull up. Overall looked sharp.

Of course I also tuned into the Cavs Milwaukee game. I don't think Parker looked as bad as some have suggested. He came out aggressive, clearly pressing. But he hit a couple short range buckets at the rim with a nice soft touch, and settled into the game. His three point shot wasn't there tonight, but he did a nice job drawing contact, finishing in the lane, rebounding. He likes to push the ball up the court after rebounds. He played within the flow of the game. It was nice first performance.

I watched the first half and thought he looked pretty good. His coast to coast layup was pretty sick.

Well you know, it is courteous not to single out one person. Less likely to get defensive or turn into an argument. Message board psychology

I had a pad full of summer notes from yesterday, but all I really want to say any more is that Dante Exum is legit.

I didn't get a chance to watch any games on Friday, but I went back and watched the DVR on the Bucks/Cavs game, and I really, really liked what I saw from Andrew Wiggins. I didn't know about his mid range stepback jumper. He seems to be able to knock that down pretty consistently. I originally wanted the Cavs to draft Jabari, but now, I think it's clear that Wiggins was the right choice. They had no way of knowing LeBron was coming back, but he's going to be a perfect fit on the wing opposite LeBron. Both of them can play lock down D, and both are unstoppable on the fast break. Bill Simmons thinks LeBron is going to train Wiggins to be his Pippen, the way MJ did it. In a way, I think Pippen might be the best NBA comp for Wiggins. Awesome athlete, great defensive player, not a great shooter right now, but should develop into a good one. Now just think about if Jordan and Pippen had a third guy like Kyrie Irving . . . i'm so pumped for some Cavs basketball this year.

Yep . . . this guy is gonna be good. Colin Cowherd actually said on his radio show that McDermott was going to be just another Adam Morrison or Jimmer Fredette . . . because he's white. He's soooooo wrong . . . .

Seth filled it up for 20+ and Miles was throwing shots left and right. Jabari had a weak game. Looks like Suns will prevail.
