That was quite a run....with Kevin's seven consecutive birdies to win. That broke a 58 yr. record held by Duke Hall of Famer, Mike Souchak.
Love it!
Kevin Streelman ran wild on the inward nine at TPC River Highlands on his way to a 6-under-par 36-28=64 in the final round of the Travelers Championship to post 15-under 265, good for a one-stroke victory over Sergio Garcia and K.J. Choi.
Going out in the fourth-to-last pairing, Streelman sat an aggregate 7-under through seven holes today. Many would have gone through the motions at that point, but he proved to be an exception. He rolled in a 10-foot birdie putt on the par-4 ninth, but the fireworks didn't ignite until the par-4 12th. This is when the birdie train began, and it never ended. He closed with seven straight birdies, including runs of 20'8", 12'2" and 37'1" at holes 14-16, respectively. It's his sixth career round of 64 or better at TPC River Highlands. This is his second PGA TOUR title and exempts him into the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational in six weeks.

Love it!
It does more than just get him in that one tourney; it exempts him for 2 years on tour, gets him in (I think) the US Open and Masters next year and many other events he might not otherwise have been in. A win these days, while he won over $1M for the win, is worth about $10M in my estimation with all the incentives, endorsements, etc. Very happy for him. GO DUKE GOLF!!!
