Duke is in early foul trouble, and Chelsea Gray has gone to the locker room, but the Duke women are playing the defense we wish the men would play. BC has gone almost five minutes without a FG. 13-6 Duke at the under-12 media timeout.
BC responded to Duke's 19-2 run with a 10-4 run of their own. The Duke lead is ten at the under-four media timeout.
Elsewhere, UVa is in a dogfight with ND. Irish lead by only two with three and a half to go.
It's the Richa Jackson show. With Liston and Peters sitting with foul trouble and Chelsea having problems with her knee, the senior came off the bench to go 6-7 from the floor and provide leadership. Chloe Wells drained a big three in the last minute to send Duke to the locker room up 14. After the early drought, BC shot it pretty well. They don't look like a team that could lose to ND by >40.
This one is far from over. We need to come out strong.
43-29 @ half. Chelsea went back to the locker room. She tweaked her knee, and was running with a limp when she went in after the initial problem. I saw that she had fallen, but didn't see what actually happened.
For the game, Tricia and Haley sat most of the first half with two relatively cheap fouls each. But Chelsea's shooting was much better while she was in, and Richa was really hot. Elizabeth doesn't have a block yet, but was all over the floor on defense, with three early steals. BC has made it close with 3 pointers, which is this team's weakness (defending the three, at least.)
Chelsea not back out after halftime. Anybody watching on TV, any information?
Not hitting many shots, but we are up by 19 with about thirteen minutes left.
Duke went 6:22 without a FG to open the second half, but somehow managed to extend the lead to 19. Strange game.
Announcers just said Chelsea has a thigh bruise - maybe not so bad??
Ka'lia Johnson gets more than her fair share of the big-girl rebounds.
Duke kinda switched off down the stretch in this game.

An outrageous series of passes by Gray and Peters leading to a layup for Jackson.
They are fun to watch when they're clicking.
