    ACC Football Wins!

As of this moment the first game is 2 Days 00 Hours 57 Mins 24 Secs away. I know we've discussed this before but i thought a poll might be easier to follow.

Vote for the ACC games you think Duke will win. Since i can only have 10 entries and there are 12 games I'll have to do an ACC and a Non-Conference poll. Sorry

Interestingly, you can't vote for zero (and I tried), because the software will not accept no checked boxes as an option.

Some key elements for success this year:

    1. The offensive line must give Thad Lewis time to throw the ball. We have a very talented group of receivers and must exploit this strength.
    2. A decent, not great - decent, running game to keep the opponents defense off balance. A decent running game will aid point #1.
    3. Improvement on defense. We must reduce the number of points our opponent puts on the board.
    4. Cutback on silly mistakes.

Of course, I could list many more (including the obvious "score more points than the other team") but I think these four are the keys.

We will beat three ACC teams this year and win three non-conference games and finish with a 6-6 record.

If we go to a bowl game this year I will pay for your ticket from Japan.

Or at the least buy you a bowl game T shirt.

    Round 2

Anybody care to rethink your responses or will you stand pat? Mine stands.

I wish we could do a follow-up poll on the same thread.

I refuse to give up on the season after one bad game. While finishing 6 - 6 looks completely unrealistic after the loss to UConn, I'll stand pat for another week. Once we beat Virginia, the season will turn around.

I also refuse to give up on the season... but Coach Roof has got to find a way to keep the players' heads up. But, maybe if attendance at Wallace Wade is so bad, maybe the players will be more pumped up AT UVa, knowing that at least they are truly the "bad guys" for the day. ... give them some "attitude".
