    The science behind throwing up

I know, basically, WHY we throw up. The body is rejecting food, nutrients, etc. and dispells it in it's most efficient way.

But what is the science, or biology behind it? What makes a person throw up even if they just eat a piece of corn? Seriously. Do nerve endings in the stomach become inflammed, then give off a reflex when food or drink touches them?

I've always been amazed at how, when you feel so violently ill, you literally cannot eat a grain of anything without activating the launch sequence.

When the appetite does come back, it comes back in full force.

    Anyone know anything about this?

P.S. No, EarlJam was not hungover or sick this weekend - but did see a young lady face down in the park, throwing up Saturday. I had nothing to do with it.

Which reminds me of a Drive-by-Truckers lyric: She woke up sunny side down and I was still thinking I was too proud to flip her over

For those of you not familair with the Drive-By-Truckers . . . well, you should be.

Nah...Red Sox fans are accustomed to disappointment and having their hopes shattered. They only need on World Series every 80+ years or so to keep them going.

Tiny gut elves that mine alcohol molecules for fuel alternatives.

I've heard of this, never seen it nor had it happen to me, only heard of it.

Yes. The elves are closely related to Smurfs.
