Coach K and Doyel go at it

Apparently, Coach K and Doyel just went at each other during the ACC teleconference.

The fun began when Gregg Doyel of cbssportsline chimed in asking K how long he suspended Christian Laettner in 1992 for "stomping on" the chest of the Kentucky player during the epic regional final. Coach and writer went back and forth a little bit, with K questioning whether that should be called a "stomp." K concluded with: "After the season we'll talk about 1992. I'd rather talk about 2007 right now."

The guy is largely off the college basketball beat but no doubt participated in the telcon. soley for the purpose of provoking and besmirching Coach K. You can bet the ascerbic Doyell rendition will be posted soon along with an article about dirty Duke players.

I really loathe this guy.

I've often noticed how much of a punk Doyel is, and his columns (whether about Duke or not) are very opinionated and not very journalistic. He is simply a propagandist pushing his own agenda. As such, i take very little of what he says as serious sport commentary, usually i just take his crap as childish rantings...

He writes that stuff to get a rise out of people. Don't read it and don't help his hit numbers. Responses just let him know that what he is doing works, so ignore the junk.

paraphrases a quote from coach K to say that henderson deserved the suspension. I assume that is completely incorrect. If someone is in the position to do so that should be corrected.
