DT was IMHO the best player IN COLLEGE in ACC history. He was incredible to watch; had a beautiful
high arcing jump shot, knew how to get to the rim. I actually believe he invented the alley-oop; never seen anyone do it before him. He would get like a foot above the rim and just drop the ball in the basket. The elevation on it was so incredible that it may even have been more impressive than dunking it. And, his victory over Bill Walton's UCLA team ranks (as I recall, in double OT) as one of the great college victories of all time.

Unfortunately, DT's pro career corresponded to the peak of the NBA cocaine years. One can only wonder how much more he might have done in the NBA in a different era. His college career, however, will never be forgotten.
