    New Kyrie Pepsi Max ad

Cool stuff, they dress him up like an old dude (kind of like Wise LeBron from The LeBrons Nike ad campaign) and have him destroy a bunch of younger guys on the court. Cameo by his dad, see if you can spot it. I can't wait to see what Nike's going to eventually do with him. (If there's a thread this goes in, please move it. Thanks!)

This is fantastic! Kyrie was also on 106 and Park Live (BET's "Total Request Live" show) on Wednesday night. They were going wild for him, and every interview/commercial he's in makes me even more proud of the kid. He continues to represent us very well!

I may be showing my age, but I immediately thought of Larry Johnson as Grandmama.

Well done Kyrie. Those cross-overs were sick.

I know this is being selfish, but I still feel cheated by his only playing 11 games at Duke. One full season would have been enough. And a priviledge. And probably another National Championship banner hanging in Cameron.

"He got hospital shoes on" - the look on his face and the seemingly natural delivery of this burn, pure magic. Love this guy

I'll take his 11 games over the entire careers of a few players at other schools. Not to mention he put Duke's rehab process on display for the world to see.

Kyrie was just in Durham the other day and I do believe he plans on going to summer school. Some players never look back.

I actually happen to know that he plans to work with Quinn a lot this summer. Watch out...

I loved how he handled his "situation", became a coach on the bench, totally involved with the team and it's biggest fan and cheerleader, rather than sulking and becoming withdrawn as so many would have done. But as a fan of Duke basketball, I and we missed out on watching him performing his magic in Cameron (and on TV in opposing venues) for Duke. That's what I'm saying. His working with Quinn, and other players this summer, is indeed very exciting! Teach them that cradle drive to the basket!

    And, as a follow-up...

...what do you think Kyrie would do with a lifetime supply of Pepsi Max?

    Drills, baby. Drills.

Being a Coke guy myself I really could care less what the ad was even pitching but it was brilliant in everyway.

Assuming they meant that Pepsi is gross, which it is. (Unnecessary cola flame!)

Didn't think this deserved a separate thread - a nice interview on a variety of topics.

Agreed. But I suspect this was a grammar/usage nitpick, not a substance nitpick.

    An imprecise grammar nit.

The phrase "I could care less", while undoubtedly less logical than "I couldn't care less," has been an easily understood sarcastic statement in the US for 50 years.

Michael Quinion has an interesting piece about the phrase: http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-ico1.htm

However, I disagree with his conclusion, at least in a modern context:

And because it is hard to be sarcastic in writing, it loses its force when put on paper and just ends up looking stupid. In such cases, the older form, while still rather colloquial, at least will communicate your meaning — at least to those who really could care less.
The meaning isn't lost at all on most people, even among those who insist on the "n't", and blog/fora writing tends to be far more conversational. A phrase usually spoken doesn't lose its meaning in this medium. (That said, I would probably still cringe if I saw someone write "whole nother").

Well, of course. That's a whole nother issue.
