The Duke baseball team today beat VPI on the road to sweep the three game series. Question: when was the last time Duke swept an ACC team, let alone on the road? Great job guys. We are now 4-5 in the league and have already played both Division leaders. Hopefully we are finally turning the corner.

Just looking at Duke's schedule on GoDuke, the last sweep I can find is at home against Virginia on March 13-15, 1999. The last road sweep was April 1-3, 1995. That's a long time.

In case some are not aware...this Duke team sports a Friday night starter, Marcus Stroman, who is a legit, early first round draft prospect. He throws in the mid to upper 90s and is putting up some crazy strikeout numbers. If you haven't caught a game this year, I suggest giving a Friday home tilt a shot.

That's interesting. The schedule/results page for 2004 doesn't have a sweep of Wake like the article says. According o that page, Duke lost its only two games against them that year. http://www.goduke.com/SportSelect.db...&Q_SEASON=2003

After being swept in a double header Saturday, being shut out in both games, Duke beat ranked Georgia Tech 4-3 today. Tech had a man on third and one out in the 9th and Duke got the double play to end the game.

GT is ranked 21st. Duke is now 5-7 in the conferfence. We really need to get to .500.
