As of early Saturday, I cannot send any messages from my Yahoo (still bellsouth.net address) email account using Mozilla Thunderbird 10.0.2. (Webmail seems OK.)

Here is the "error" message I receive when trying to send anything:

1) An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Transaction failed : Cannot send message due to possible abuse; please visit http://postmaster.yahoo.com/abuse_smt... for more information. Please check the message and try again.
2) Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again or contact your network administrator.

Apparently this is a common problem, as shown here:

From reading the thread, plain text messages can be sent but that is really not a solution for me. Since this is, ahem, tax season there are many things I cannot easily send with a plain text email.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem, is there any hope Yahoo/Mozilla will soon kiss and make up, or what? (My "unsent messages" files are growing...)

I'm not desperate enough to try Outlook Express (may not even be an option with Win 7?) but something's gotta give soon!

Thanks for any words of wisdom here!
