In this video, I like the dude who is dressed up like a lizard with the Carolina blue shirt who says he is "exothermic, so I need to warm myself in the sunlight" when I think he meant "poikilothermic". He should have gone to his Bio class instead of standing in line for the game.

The Daily Tarheel has some wonderful videos. The fan reaction is of course great, but there is also one with students saying why they hate Duke with some rather...serendipitous answers. You gotta check that one out too. They're both great. But, the fan reaction video...
When we lose a game like that I fuss, I scream, I jump around...did they mute the volume or something? I mean it just went dead. It's was beautiful. Just beautiful. It's like the gift that keeps on giving.
And for those that catch the reference there are alot of Woo girls in that video falling victim to the cheerleader effect.
WRAL has several videos on their site. My favorite is the Kendall Marshall interview. He's so uncomfortable that it's almost painful to watch. Looks like he'd rather be receiving a frontal lobotomy than answering an endless stream of questions on how and why the choked. Just beautiful.
I think the extreme glee we're all feeling is related to the fact that it's been a very long time since we were an underdog (a significant one) and toppled a more highly ranked team. Someone will probably come up with a counter example here and there ... but it's really a perfect storm:
a) team had been not playing up to Duke standards of late, enduring a rare calling out (multiple ones in fact) by Coach K
b) we were ranked lower than our opponent
c) that opponent was our singular rival
d) we came from a significant deficit
e) that deficit endured until fairly late,
f) we completed the comeback at the last possible moment
g) in their house (well, in our house would have been just as sweet)
maybe some others. Anyway, general point is, our great success under Coach K means we don't often get the feeling of an upset win. Often, our outcomes can only either meet expectations or fail. We seldom get a chance to exceed expectations. And how sweet it is!
