    How would we respond?

If the situations were reversed and we had one of our guys in Zellers position
how do we as a vocal entinty ,respond?

Short version: here is what I and many others saw, Zeller had a really solid performance, (last minute aside).. Yes I get it, "ya gotta close the deal"!

When you read the articles, look at the pics, hear what IC has to say

I,and I think others, believe, that he,as an individual is taking way too much personal heat for the loss!
He is one of a team and you win AND lose as a team.

That game could be disected play by play and what if'd to death to determine a perfect outcome with a higher win margin for either team!!

I.e turnovers, rebounds lost, loose balls missed, poor shot selection, you name it!

Point is what if we were dealing this, would it be a useful discussion, before the fact?

Do we rally around the team or single out a goat?
    (maybe a slight pun intended)

I figure Zeller deserves little or no heat for the last minute:

    1. 50% FT shooting - sure wish we had that in the Miami OT
    2. The own goal. A freak play on a really bad shot.
    3. Letting Rivers shoot. Zeller stopped the drive, and he couldn't see the clock. And it wasn't like he gave up an easy shot - Rivers was 25 ft out.

And he had the best view in the house of Austin's winning shot.
To add: watching the replay, Mason certainly enjoyed watching that shot...he had the fist pump going before the ball went through; Zeller at least had the best view of the shot's release

I think a few people have mentioned this, but if anyone deserves some heat, it's Barnes. I rewatched the game last night. With about 1:30 left, Barnes received the ball as UNC is trying to get the ball across half court. He takes a few dribbles and drives into the lane. Ryan steps up and gets the charging call on Barnes. The shot clock still had 20 seconds left and the game clock was now at 1:19. He easily could have held up and gotten fouled while wasting more time. Not a smart play at all.

Zeller is a top-level player and had a great game.

I'm obviously glad we won, and I've poked my fun at him like everyone else. But the kid has real game and I hate it for him.

It will make him stronger in the end. Hopefully, not at our expense.

Ha...love it! I promise that Zeller will never forget that shot, ever. 40 years from now ESPN will interview him and he'll admit to that fact...

Zeller goes to my church and is a great guy, by all accounts, so I do feel slightly badly for him. That said, it was a great game and a final shot we'll never forget. Go Duke!
