    Shelden Williams and Elan Chalon got the TV game of the week to show their stuff, but they ended up getting blown out 90-61 against powerhouse Maccabi Tel Aviv. Shelden ended up with 12 points in 26 minutes
    Nice to see old friend Shelden having some fun over in Europe. Think he got tired of minimum contract bench riding over here, and decided to travel around Europe for a while. May not make as much money, but I'll bet he's enjoying playing over there more.

    On Saturday, DeMarcus Nelson and Red Star Belgrade had an intriguing Adriatic League game in Macedonia against MZT Skopje in a game between two teams with a number of issues to sort out. With a number of players unavailable, DeMarcus was critical for the team and he had 9 points and 8 rebounds in 35 minutes to be named the MVP in a 75-60 win.     Tomorrow's ESPN3 Euroleague game will feature Caja Laboral and Anadolu Efes from Turkey live from Basque Country. There are some ex-NBA players on both sides and it is a pretty intriguing matchup. The game is at 3:45pm Eastern Time this week because of the difference in Daylight Savings Time on this side of the pond.

    On Tuesday, Krystal Thomas and the Jiangsu Phoenix were back in action against the Guangdong Dolphins and they won 83-66. Krystal played all 40 minutes and had 14 points and 19 rebounds.

In Russia, Spartak Moscow beat Bourges of France 84-62 with contributions from its stars after getting 22 points and 7 rebounds from Candice Dupree and 15 points from Becky Hammon. In Turkey, Galatasaray edged past USK Prague from the Czech Republic 58-56 as they missed having Sylvia Fowles. WNBA experience was still critical on both sides as Sancho Lyttle had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Ann Wauters had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win while Kia Vaughn had 17 points and 12 rebounds in the loss. In Slovakia, Good Angels Kosice beat Sopron of Hungary 89-78 after a decisive third quarter. WNBA experience was critical in a battle between two former Miami teammates as Shenise Johnson had 29 points and 11 rebounds in the loss while Riquana Williams had 18 points and got help with 13 points each from Plenette Pierson and Allie Quigley. UMMC Ekaterinburg had a surprisingly tough game hosting Novi Zagreb of Croatia in Russia, only winning 83-77 despite having a near full-strength lineup. Diana Taurasi had 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists and Sandrine Gruda had 17 points in the win while ex-Richmond player Mirna Mazic had 15 points in the loss. In Turkey, Fenerbahce blasted Targoviste of Romania 73-48 with solid contributions from its WNBA players as Cappie Pondexter had 16 points and Angel McCoughtry had 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists while ex-Drexel player Gabriela Marginean had 16 points in the loss.     There was plenty of other Eurocup action on Wednesday.     That could be a very good fit. It would be nice to see him show his stuff at a higher level and not just have him go to China now that he has gotten his extended break. Too bad about Jerry Smith though.
