Eurobasket continues as there is one game left in Lithuania's group. France had already qualified, so they theoretically could have taken it easy against the hosts, but they played their starters and managed to grind out a win at the end by a score of 73-67. Marty Pocius struggled from the field with 6 points on 2 of 11 shooting from the field in 22 minutes of play. Lithuania will look to seal their spot in the quarterfinals when they face off against Germany. The Nowitzki-Kaman duo managed to do a little more than the Asik-Kanter duo to defeat Turkey. The Gasols and Spain continued to roll as they defeated Serbia. That leaves the standings heading into the final game looking like this as the top 4 teams move on and two spots have already been clinched:

    France 4-0
    Spain 3-1
    Lithuania 2-2
    Turkey 1-3
    Serbia 1-3
    Germany 1-3

    Here is the Lithuania-France boxscore:

Daniel Ewing continues to prepare for his season with BC Azovmash. He scored 7 points in an 81-63 win over Enisey of Russia then scored 10 points in a victory over Sibenik of Croatia.

    FIBA Americas, London Olympics berths

Didn't want to start separate thread, as I don't know how much interest there is in FIBA Americas FF [tourney being played in Argentina]. As a reminder, top 2 get auto bids to 2012 London Olympics. Here's a short-sweet update from ESPN.

Thanks to us not being there, hosts Argentina ended up winning that FIBA Americas tournament over Brazil 80-75 thanks to Luis Scola. Those two will join the USA in London while third-place Dominican Republic and fourth-place Puerto Rico will join fifth place Venezuela in the final Olympic qualifying tournament.

Marty Pocius and Lithuania are moving on to the quarterfinal round of Eurobasket after an 84-75 win over Germany. Marty did not have too much of a contribution with 2 points in 10 minutes. Chris Kaman had a good game for Germany, but Dirk Nowitzki was a little below his best and they are now out. Already-qualified Spain rolled over already-qualified France, who rested Parker and Noah, to finish first and to leave France in second. Lithuania finished in third ahead of Serbia, who sealed the last quarterfinal spot with a win over Turkey. Lithuania will be in action again on Wednesday the 14th and their opponent will be determined after the last game tomorrow as they will face the loser of the Russia-Macedonia game. The game will be at 2pm Eastern on ESPN3 again.

The WNBA regular season is over, so news about ex-Duke women's team players should be filtering out soon as most women's basketball stars play both the WNBA and European seasons to maximize their income.

The dream of winning Eurobasket in front of the home fans is over for Marty Pocius and Lithuania after a tough 67-65 loss to upstarts Macedonia. Marty was quiet again with 2 points in 22 minutes. Macedonia was led by American-born Bo McCalebb who plays for Montepaschi Siena in Italy now after being one of the most prolific scorers in NCAA history at New Orleans. Their win earns them a titanic clash against Spain, who overcame a slow start to defeat Slovenia thanks to strong efforts from Pau Gasol and brief NBA player Juan Carlos Navarro. Lithuania now faces a must-win game against Slovenia to preserve their chances at an Olympics berth. The game will be on ESPN3 as always with an early 8:30am Eastern start. Here is the boxscore:

As club season rolls around, preseason preparation continues in earnest and all the Duke players have been involved since the last update.

Jon Scheyer made his Maccabi Tel-Aviv debut in a preseason games against Maccabi Haifa. Jon earned the start in the 88-63 win, but only scored one point while ex-Virginia player Sylven Landesburg was one of the stars for Haifa. The other noteworthy item is that Jon will be wearing number 14. Here is the write-up from the English language team website:
    http://www.maccabi.co.il/News.asp?id...nguage=english

Kyle Singler and Alicante got their first chance against professional opposition, but came up short against fellow Spanish team Unicaja Malaga, 76-69. As he did against Stanford, Kyle led the team with 15 points in this one.

DeMarcus Nelson and BC Donetsk are trying to get ready for the Euroleague qualifiers and they started their time in Germany with a 90-65 win over Artland Dragons. DeMarcus had 19 points and 6 assists. The first team between BC Donetsk and Euroleague will be Belgian champions Spirou Charleroi.

Daniel Ewing and Azovmash have their own European ambitions as they will face Latvian runners-up Ventspils. Ewing scored 11 points in a 68-60 win over Croatian runners up Cedevita and 14 points in a 72-67 win over Helios of Slovenia.

More updates will continue as we get closer to the regular season.

Lithuania is still alive for the Olympics after an 80-77 victory over Slovenia. Marty Pocius contributed 6 points and 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. Their final game will be against the winner of Greece-Serbia game on Saturday at 2pm ET on ESPN3 again. France overcame a slow start to beat Greece while Russia defeated Serbia to set up the other semifinal alongside Spain and Macedonia.

    Here is the boxscore:
    http://www.eurobasket2011.com/en/cid...6.teamID_.html

DeMarcus Nelson and BC Donetsk played another preseason game in their tour of Germany and lost to the same Artland Dragons team they beat the day before. DeMarcus had only 4 points in the 78-72 loss. A picture is at this link, plus an opportunity to test your Cyrillic-reading skills:

Keeping with the international theme, the FIBA Asia championship started earlier today in China. The UAE team that Duke faced fell to the Philippines 92-52 in their opener. Another interesting game in this tournament was Qatar and Uzbekistan. Qatar apparently only had five available players and one fouled out. Then another one fouled out... Then another one... Then a fourth one fouled out, which caused the game to end by rule. This all happened in less than 6 minutes of game time and Qatar managed to score 12 points in that time while giving up 27, so that is the final score. Here is the boxscore if you want to take a look:

The international games are over for Marty Pocius as Lithuania finished their Eurobasket with a 73-69 win over Greece to finish in fifth place. He finished the tournament on a strong note with 13 points in 18 minutes to lead the team. Nick Calathes (Florida) scored 16 points, Kosta Koufos (Ohio State) scored 14, and Michael Bramos (Miami of Ohio) contributed 26 scoreless minutes as Greece relies on some American-born players. The Eurobasket final between Spain and France is tomorrow and will be tape-delayed on ESPN2. Here is the boxscore:
    http://www.eurobasket2011.com/en/cid...6.teamID_.html

Marty may just be ready to report to his club team, but DeMarcus Nelson and BC Donetsk continue their preseason in Germany. DeMarcus scored 8 points in a 92-90 defeat to Oldenburg.

Updates here on out will focus on the club season as some key qualifiers come up and as news on where ex-women's team player comes up they will be added to this thread as well.

Our focus shifts to club teams now as the first competitive games will come next week. The two Duke guys in Ukraine have the earliest big matches so their teams continue to play a number of exhibitions. The NBA lockout continues to have an effect on teams in Europe as Marty Pocius's newest Real Madrid teammate is Rudy Fernandez. Speaking of Marty, I am sure he will be resting a bit after Eurobasket, but I am sure he will try to be in a competitive position to debut for his team as soon as possible.

Daniel Ewing and BC Azovmash continued their preparations by hosting 3 other teams in a little tournament. They defeated fellow Ukrainian team Cherkasy 73-64 in overtime with Daniel contributing 18 points. The win put them in the tournament final against Russian team Triumph and Daniel scored 14 points in a 64-57 win.

DeMarcus Nelson and BC Donetsk continued their time in Germany and faced off twice against Telekom Baskets in Bonn. DeMarcus scored 9 points in a 76-71 win to open the series and then scored 12 points and dished out 6 assists in an 85-76 closing game.

Of course Men's Basketball alumni are not the only Dukies playing outside of the United States. In women's basketball, the money and available player spots generally come from outside of the WNBA. Many WNBA players play the European season after the WNBA one concludes. In some cases, the information is harder to find than for men's teams, but I am putting together the list of where the players are playing. Jasmine Thomas is headed to the Czech Republic to play for Euroleague side Frisco Sika in Brno. I think Karima Christmas will be Raanana Hertezeliya in Israel, but if you look at her Twitter account, she's not too sure either. France looks like an attractive destination again this season. Krystal Thomas will be playing for Lyon as soon as her WNBA season with Phoenix ends. Since there are no other Dukies on the Western Conference side, I guess we can root for them to play the maximum number of games. Mistie Bass is slated to return to Challes, where she played last season and dominated the competition by leading the league in scoring, being 4th in rebounds, and being 9th in blocks. (Alison Bales was 5th in rebounds and 1st in blocks) Jess Foley is going to play for Townsville Fire in her native Australia and Sheana Mosch will play for Antakya in Turkey. Joy Cheek was slated to play in Spain, but of course she is now on staff at Duke. I am sure that some more news on players heading overseas will come soon as the WNBA season winds down.

I missed the first competitive club game of the season former Dukie, but it was in the second division in France, where Carrem Gay made her debut for recently relegated Toulouse against Reims. Carrem scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 33 minutes in a 77-62 win. Here is the boxscore:
    http://www.ffbb.com/_livestats/1017/pdf/lsg2003.pdf

Competitive games will continue to take place this weekend in France among other places and then European competition qualifiers will start during the week.

Also in France, Jon Scheyer and Maccabi Tel Aviv are playing in an exhibition tournament through the weekend. They defeated DeMarcus Nelson's old team Cholet 105-74 with Jon chipping in 8 points and Jordan Farmar contributing 15. Here is the English language write-up from the team website:
    http://www.maccabi.co.il/News.asp?id...nguage=english

Moving on to Spain, where Kyle Singler and Lucentum Alicante prepared for their upcoming regional cup. They lost 81-61 to fellow Spanish team Assignia Manresa, with Kyle only providing 4 points. If you have a fantasy basketball fix that needs filling without the NBA yet, you could turn to Fantasy ACB run by the league's official website. Kyle is currently listed as the 13th most expensive player in the game at over 950,000 euros. Marty Pocius, on the other hand, is listed at around 580,000 euros. Speaking of Marty, move over Cristiano Ronaldo, because there is a new big money transfer number 7 wearing the Real Madrid shirt. Marty and the newest Real Madrid players were finally introduced today.

The top division of the women's league in France got underway this weekend and Mistie Bass was back to putting up good numbers for Challes as they opened up with a 74-58 win over Nantes. Mistie scored 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in 33 minutes. Down in the second division, Carrem Gay put another good effort forward in Toulouse's 86-56 win over Le Havre. Carrem had 18 points and 8 rebounds in 34 minutes. Here are the boxscores from those games:

Kyle Singler has won his first professional trophy today after Alicante defeated Valencia 78-67 to win the Lliga Valenciana, the region's local cup competition. Kyle and rookie Jeremy Hazell from Seton Hall had 14 points each for Alicante while ex-Maryland player Nik Caner-Medley had 14 for Valencia. On Friday, Kyle had 11 points in a 68-61 exhibition loss to Murcia. Here is a link to a Spanish story that includes a picture of the team with the trophy:

Marty Pocius made his Real Madrid debut in a pair of preseason events. He scored 6 points in a 77-55 win over Zaragoza and scored 2 points in a 75-68 loss to Caja Laboral. Some of the first competitive action he will see will be in the Spanish Super Cup which will see Real Madrid start off against champions Barcelona.

Jon Scheyer and Maccabi Tel Aviv also won a tournament as they finished a good trip to France. Jon scored 3 points in the 93-79 win over Gravlines in the semi-final and also played in the 86-62 final win over French champions Nancy. Here the English-language stories from the team website:

A couple of big European qualifiers will come up. DeMarcus Nelson and BC Donetsk will face Spirou Basket on their home court in Charleroi on Thursday. They will need to win against the hosts and then defeat the winner of the game between Alba Berlin and VEF Riga in a game on Saturday and then win one more game on Sunday to qualify for the Euroleague regular season. Losing at any stage of the qualifier would dump them down to the Eurocup, which is what Daniel Ewing and BC Azovmash will be trying to qualify for in the next two weeks. They need to beat Latvian team Ventspils in a two-legged playoff taking place over the next two Tuesdays to qualify.

  11. #31
Marty Pocius got the start today in Real Madrid's exhibition game against Fuenlabrada. Marty scored 3 points in the 81-62 win, but the star of the show was Real Madrid's lone American, one of their new signings, Jaycee Carroll, the latest pride of Laramie, Wyoming and Utah State University, who scored 29.

Daniel Ewing made his competitive debut for BC Azovmash in their Eurocup qualifier against Ventspils of Latvia. They carried a lead late into the game, but lost 75-74 on a buzzer beater. Daniel had 13 points in 31 minutes while the star for Ventspils was Jahmar Young out of New Mexico State. Azovmash will have the home-court advantage for the 2nd leg, where a 2 point win will be enough to advance. Here is the report from the official website:
    http://www.fibaeurope.com/cid_KNce8j...4.teamID_.html

There were 5 other qualifiers, so I will give a brief roundup. Deron Williams made his competitive debut for Besiktas as the 6th place team from Turkey was given everything they could handle from the 3rd place team from Belgium, Dexia Mons-Hainaut in a 78-70 win. Williams had 15 points and 9 assists while ex-Nevada player Marcellus Kemp had 24 for Besiktas and of ACC importance, Sean Singletary had 4 points for the Belgians. ACC connections reigned supreme in France, where fifth place Elan Chalon defeated Croatian runners up Cedevita 78-73. The less famous Aminu, Alade from Georgia Tech, scored 20 to lead the French team, while Malcolm Delaney added 4 points and Ilian Evtimov had 9 points. Raymar Morgan had 13 points for 5th place Turkish team Pinar Karsiyaka, but they lost 80-73 to 8th place French Team Le Mans. The fifth-place Belgian team from Oostende defeated Swedish runner up Norrkoping Dophins 88-62 and Czech runners up BK Prostejov defeated Bulgarian champions Lukoil Academic 70-65. Two more qualifiers will take place tomorrow, including the big guns from Spain and Russia and then the second legs are scheduled for next week.

On the player movement rumor front, Josh McRoberts will not be playing for Partizan Belgrade as they apparently could not agree on contract terms.

  12. #32
One Duke player's Euroleague dream is over as DeMarcus Nelson made his competitive debut with BC Donetsk but they fell in the first qualifying round against hosts Spirou Basket in Charleroi. DeMarcus had 8 points in 30 minutes as his team jumped out to an early lead, but the Belgian team rallied late and won it 61-59 to move on. Donetsk will be dropped down to the EuroCup, which means DeMarcus could be fighting for another trophy opposite Daniel Ewing. Here is the report on the game from the Euroleague website:
    http://www.euroleague.net/main/resul...asoncode=EQR11

Recapping the rest of the qualifiers from this week: ALBA Berlin advances in the Charleroi bracket after defeating VEF Riga of Latvia 82-60 to face the hosts on Saturday. In the other bracket for games played in Vilnius, the hosts Lietuvos Rytas defeated Montenegrin team KK Buducnost 83-64. Tyrese Rice had 16 points for the Lithuanian team while ex-USC player and recent draftee Nikola Vucevic led all scorers with 18 points for the team from his native country. These winners will face the Croat team KK Cibona after they defeated French runners up Cholet 77-70. Goran Suton had 8 points and 7 rebounds for Cibona as rookie Taylor Battle out of Penn State led all scorers with 23 points in only 20 minutes and Chandler Parson scored 2 points for Cholet. A couple more Eurocup qualifiers also took place on Wednesday with Spain's sixth-place team Gran Canaria won the first leg against fourth-place German team Artland Dragons 61-56. The seventh place Russian team, Spartak St. Petersburg edged out Cypriot champions ETHA Engonis 60-59. Euroleague qualifers conclude on Sunday while the second leg of the EuroCup qualifiers take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Kyle Singler and Lucentum Alicante continued their productive preseason with a 79-75 over UCAM Murcia. Kyle led the team with 13 points as Rob Kurz had 8 and James Augustine had 9 for Murcia. Alicante has to feel like they could have a decent season if they can hang on to Kyle for a long period of time as they have played well against some of the better teams in the league. They will be particularly hopeful that they will be able to steer well clear of relegation.

More regular seasons are starting up now, so the coverage of these updates will continue to grow.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv decided to return to the Adriatic League, which mostly features teams from the former Yugoslavia. They made their debut against Slovenian team Krka Novo Mesto today and came away with an 83-68 win. Jon came off the bench and hit two free throws and grabbed two rebounds in 4 minutes. Jordan Farmar had 11 points in his competitive debut as well. Here is the boxscore from the league website and the writeup from the team website:
    http://www.adriaticbasket.info/w2/st...?gameid=7&sez=
    http://www.maccabi.co.il/News.asp?id...nguage=english

In between two legs of a critical qualifier, Daniel Ewing and BC Azovmash started the Ukrainian Super League season today against Hoverla. Daniel had 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in the 82-76 win. The team will be looking for another win to seal a spot in the second-tier European competition.

We have another Dukie to add to the list of overseas players as David McClure will play in Lithuania again this season, this time in the second division with Kedainiai Triobet. They opened their season today in the Baltic League, which includes teams from a couple of countries around the Baltic Sea. They faced fellow Lithuanian team Rudupis from the top division and played quite a game in losing in overtime 85-76. David came off the bench to score 8 points and grab 11 rebounds in 31 minutes. Here is the boxscore from the Baltic League website:

Any Real Madrid fan would tell you that a good way to get on the good side of the fans would be to put in a good effort against Barcelona. Marty Pocius decided to do that on Friday in the 4 team Spanish Super Cup as the rivals battled in one of the semifinals. He got the start and his early points helped the team stay close as Barcelona jumped out to a lead and then he continued to contribute as the team rallied before falling away late and losing 74-70, during a period when he was not on the court. Marty finished tied for the team lead alongside American Jaycee Carroll with 14 points in 29 minutes and grabbed 4 rebounds. Here is the boxscore from the league website:
    http://www.acb.com/fichas/SCOPA12002.php

The last two Euroleague spots will be determined tomorrow after 4 games yesterday and 4 more today sent 8 more teams packing to the EuroCup. In Charleroi, Belgium, the hosts Spirou Basket, after today's victory over ALBA Berlin will face off against surprise team CEZ Nymburk, the Czech champions who jumped out to a huge lead and held on against Khimki from Russia. The winner will earn trips to places like Barcelona during the Euroleague regular season. In Vilnius, Lithuania, the hosts Lietuvos Rytas defeated Cibona Zagreb to set up a final matchup with Turkish team Galatasaray, who defeated French team ASVEL Basket. The winner of that matchup will earn a spot in a difficult group where the other five teams are Real Madrid, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Milan, Anadolu Efes Pilsen, and Partizan Belgrade. The full list of teams eliminated since Thursday is PAOK of Greece, Gravelines of France, Cibona of Croatia, ASVEL of France, PGE Turow of Poland, Banvit of Turkey, Khimki of Russia, and ALBA Berlin of Germany.

The women's leagues in France continued this weekend. In the second division, Carrem Gay played a big part in Toulouse's 68-52 win over Centre Federal, leading all scorers with 19 points and adding 6 rebounds in 32 minutes. In the top flight, Mistie Bass contributed to another win for Challes as they defeated Hainult 62-48. Mistie led all scorers with 15 points and led her team with 7 rebounds in 35 minutes. Here is the boxscore for the game:

    Here is our midweek update:

Jon Scheyer and Maccabi Tel-Aviv continued their Adriatic League journey on Monday by blowing out Zlatorog Lasko of Slovenia 101-72. The lopsided scoreline that Jon got a fair shot to show what he can do, but he ended up being the only player on the team to not score as he missed a pair of free throw, grabbed a pair of rebounds, and dished out an assist in 17 minutes. From the front page article, it sure would be interesting to see Taylor King try out with a legitimately good pro team like Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Here is the English-language story from the team website and the boxscore from the league website:
    http://www.maccabi.co.il/News.asp?id...nguage=english
    http://www.adriaticbasket.info/w2/st...?gameid=8&sez=

Marty Pocius and Real Madrid had to bounce back from their weekend disappointment as they had their second game for the local cup for Madrid. They had won the first game before the Super Cup, but after Asefa Estudiantes won their first game, their meeting on Tuesday would determine the trophy winner. Marty got another start and impressed with 14 points in the 79-68 win. Ex-NC State player Cedric Simmons had 9 points for Estudiantes in defeat.

Kyle Singler and Alicante also had one more preseason game before the league tips off this weekend and they beat Cajasol 90-71 on Monday. Kyle had 12 points in the win while ex-Michigan State player Paul Davis led all scorers with 17 points in the losing effort.

DeMarcus Nelson and BC Donetsk opened up their domestic campaign Monday and may have had a bit of a hangover from their Euroleague exit as they fell 88-77 to Hoverla. My Russian skills are non-existant, but fiddling around with the boxscore, it looks like he had 8 points and 4 rebounds in 7 minutes off the bench.

Also in Ukraine, Daniel Ewing and BC Azovmash sealed their trip to the regular season of the EuroCup after winning the second leg of their qualifier against Ventspils by a score of 79-65. Daniel had 18 points and 5 assists in 29 minutes while his teammate Ricky Minnard, formerly of Morehead State, had 24 points and rookie Steven Gray out of Gonzaga had 9 points in the loss. Here is the boxscore:
    http://www.fibaeurope.com/cid_KNce8j...4.teamID_.html

5 other qualifiers for the competition took place and I will offer up a few highlights. Former Arkansas player Patrick Beverley scored 24 points to lead Russian team Spartak over the Cypriots of ETHA. Croatian team Cedevita defeated Chalon, the French team with the ACC influence. Alade Aminu fouled out after scoring 10 points, Ilian Evtimov fouled out after scoring 9 points, and Malcolm Delaney had 10 points and 5 rebounds for the losing team. The big shock of the round was Turkish Giants Besiktas falling by 11 to Belgian upstarts Dexia Mons-Hainaut for 3 point loss on aggregate. Deron Williams struggled with 6 turnovers and only 7 points as Marcelus Kemp led the team again with 18 points. At least one Illinois player is moving on as Warren Carter had 9 points and 7 rebounds in the win, ex-Vanderbilt player Shan Foster added 2 points and 5 rebounds, Sean Singetary scored 5 points and dished out 4 assists, and the Belgians were led by ex-St. Joe's player Ahmad Nivins's 18 points and 9 rebounds and ex-Western Kentucky player A.J. Slaughter's 19 points. Besiktas and their big money signing now drop down to the 3rd tier European competition the EuroChallenge, which started its own qualifications today. There were two all-Russian battles. Ex-Maryland player Lonny Baxter and BC Enisey lost to Spartak Primorye out in Vladivostok despite his 20 points. Kyle Landry scored 15 points for Triumph as they took the first leg against Krasnye Krylia, which got 14 points and an early foul out from DeJuan Blair, 13 points from Jarvis Hayes, 11 points from Joe Alexander, and 9 points from Aaron Miles. Justin Knox and Julius Hodge are teaming up in Belarus this season with BC Minsk 2006, but they fell to Sokhumi of Georgia, who got 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 11 assists from the infamous Pierre Pierce. Knox had 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 blocks before fouling out while Hodge had 8 points and 5 rebounds. All the European competitions will be settled next week and we will hopefully see which Euroleague games will be available on TV here. I will continue to have more players to track as the regular season for most leagues gets into shape.

awhom111 - these updates are awesome - keep them coming.

I am impressed by the number of former ACC players enjoying pro careers overseas. With the NBA season in serious jeopardy, I would love to watch these games. Has there been talk of any networks taking advantage of the NBA lockout to broadcast some of these European league games? Is there a good place to watch them online? I'd love to watch some of our guys, especially Jon, Kyle, Ewing and Marty.

In the past few years, NBA TV has had one game per week of the Euroleague season and the game has also been available on ESPN3. I see Euroleague on the ESPN3 listings but not on the TV yet. Which teams will be shown has not been announced yet. It would be good to see some Euroleague games on TV since they would be the big name teams and they happen on weekday afternoons. The domestic leagues might not work out because they would clash with college sports on the weekends. I am not sure that any TV network would take a big risk without knowing how much of the season will be impacted and how many people would watch these leagues. I suspect we will get a better idea as more players seem to be signing overseas contracts each day. As for fully legal methods to watch these leagues online, there really are none, but if you are not above viewing streams of highly questionable legality, I am sure that you will be able to find some out there.

I don't really have enough for a full update, but I figured it would be good to acknowledge Jasmine Thomas's first game in the Czech league today.

    Thanks Lord Ash.

There were quite a few more midweek games, so I thought it would be a good time for another update with the next one scheduled for Sunday.

Jon Scheyer and Maccabi Tel Aviv continued their foray into the Adriatic League as they got more games out of their way in advance of the upcoming Israeli competitions. They hosted Croatian team Cibona and jumped out to a decent lead and won pretty comfortably 97-81. After struggling in the last game, Jon was the last player off the bench and got to play the last 4 minutes, where he missed a shot and picked up a foul. Ex-Michigan State player Goran Suton scored only 2 points while ex-Virginia Tech player (from their Big East days) Brian Chase led Cibona with 17 points. For Maccabi Tel-Aviv, the two LA guys were involved as David Blu(thenthal) scored 11 and Jordan Farmar had 19 points and 7 assists. The non-Jewish Americans on the team also had solid contributions with ex-Virginia player Devin Smith scoring 19 points, Duquesne player Shawn James adding 3, and Alabama product Richard Hendrix scoring 8 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Any idea where Sheana Mosch will be playing this season? She's not listed on the roster of Dinamo GUVD, where she played last year.
