Saw this thread was reopened, and thought this a logical place to link to Scout's updated 2014 rankings:

Tyus drops some, Joel Berry drops a lot, maybe too far down now, I don't know.

    Tyus is still solid gold.

    Grayson continues to move up.

Thomas Welsh up to 17. Really?

Interesting that they list #75 PG Shelton Mitchell from Oak Hill Academy (who just decommitted from Wake) as considering Duke, among several others. Although according to Twitter, his coach, Steve Smith, does not think he's going to another ACC school.

Duke's not going to be involved with Mitchell.

That is a big blow for Wake Forest, although Manning could repair the damage if Mitch Wilbekin, the younger brother of SEC player of the year Scottie Wilkekin, follows him to Winston=-Salem. The 6-1 Wilbekin is rated slightly higher than Mitchell -- he's a better scorer although at this point Mitchell is rated a better playmaker. Wilkekin originally signed with Manning at Tulsa, but has been granted his release -- Wake Forest and Virginia are considered his two most likely destinations.

Two things on this. One, I learned that Mitchell was ranked in the top 30 before having a knee issue (meniscus?) and dropping significantly in the rankings. It sounded a little like Quinn Cook's high school injury.

Second, I wondered if the Wilbekin recruitment was related to Mitchell decommitting - in other words, Mitchell didn't like that Manning was going after another PG.

    Trey Mourning to Georgetown

Alonzo Mourning III, also known as Trey, will follow his father’s footsteps and play at Georgetown.

The 6-foot-9 power forward from Ransom (FL) Everglades committed to the Hoyas on Saturday, according to the Washington Post. He averaged 29 points and 10 rebounds per game last season while leading Ransom to Florida’s Class 4A regional semifinals.

This article confirms late interest from Duke back in the day:

It's a pretty interesting article overall.
