    Julius Hodge & Sonics

A Sonics reporter stopped fawning over Durant long enough to give us ACC fans a piece of noteworthy information:

Former North Carolina State standout Julius Hodge, trying to earn an invitation to training camp, scored 14 points with 10 rebounds in just over 21 minutes.
    Go Julius!

And for you G'town fans, an interview w/ Jeff Green:

Easily my favorite non-Blue Devil of the last 10 years. Such personality.

Take a look here for more:

He played the Princeton too. Could be a terrific fit with Green and Durant. Green playing the center in the Princeton, aka, the high post hub of the wheel, with Durant sometimes playing the georgetown adaptation of the Princeton, aka, with a low post presence, and otherwise being the principal go to scorer on the exterior. The thing about Hodge is that he could walk right in and play Green's spot. Durant could be extraordinarily dangerous in that spot too, once he gets the system, only he might be shooting it more than the Princeton system would ideally like.

We will see if they're going Princeton-type offense based upon whom Coach C hires as his assistants. On the other hand, C, having coached just up the road from the master for a whole those years at the Hall, might have learned a thing or two about the Princeton from the horse himself.

Could be an ideal spot for Hodge.

    Take it from me ...

Seton Hall and Princeton are a Universe away. We do not play them, and I am quite sure that there would be no occasion during the year that PJ and my favorite gnome from Bethlehem, PA would have sat down to chew the fat. If PJ is interested in the P'ton O, I suspect he is a late arrival to that party.

PJ is a thinking man's coach. If you are a thinking man and are interested in basketball, you are interested in Pete Carrill. There are no other possibilities. If Jumbo had access to clinics at which the Princeton was "presented," and he claimed on this very board that that was the case, I have to believe that PJ did as well. And, if PJ was not completely commited to knowing and understanding the possibilities of the passing game, what would he have been doing as Pop's right hand?

More importantly, if Seatle traded who they did to get Green and are not interested in the Princeton, or using Princeton concepts in their offense, somebody should shoot whoever made that move. And, if they are interested in using the Princeton concepts, then either PJ knows something about them or the guy who hired him needs to be shot.

Finally, whether PJ got it from the horses mouth or some other part hardly matters. They will be using Green in the high post and you will see a whole lot of Pete Carrill and the King's offense, with Durant playing the roll of the shooter from Russia or somewhere else whose name escapes me but who got traded to Indiana. You don't disagree with any of that, do you?
