You can take a kid out of Carolina but you cant take Carolina out of the kid
Ha, sounds like it was just a joke taken out of context.
I've always liked Lawson, honestly, despite him being kind of idiot. His attitude towards basketball and life in general just makes me chuckle.
I think the amount you get is based on your income. I know people that got a lot less then 250 cause they did not make hardly anything at the last job. I really dont think he cant get it, as I think they have to pay their own taxes.

I remember during the 1999 lockout the owners' strategy seemed to be to sit around and do nothing while the players made complete idiots of themselves in the media, turning public opinion against them. It worked almost to perfection - first you had Patrick Ewing defending their exhorbitant salaries by claiming that "we make a lot of money, but we also spend a lot of money." I think he was even dumb enough to list in detail his monthly expenses. Then you had the players association organizing an exhibition game and having the gall to claim that the proceeds were going to "help out unemployed NBA players in financial need," or some abomination like that.
Players don't seem to realize that fans don't want to hear about how difficult their lives are. Nor do we want to see them flaunting their wealth. We just want them to give the appearance, phony as it may be, that they're just regular guys playing a game they love, and that they really care about entertaining us.
You are exactly correct Jason! In NC, most people are getting $200-$300 or so, a week, and can earn a little extra, based on the last 4 working quarters.
I certainly hope that Ty was just joking about filing for unemployment. There are so many throughout the US, that have lost their homes or rental homes, had vehicles repossessed, and have exhausted their unemployment benefits. NBA athletes make good money, and should invest or save the majority of their earnings.
With summer camps, Ty could earn extra money if he wants too!
