    Dr. Robert Anderson

I got home tonight and turned on the Yankees-Red Sox exhibition game (Colon looked awful BTW) and the first thing they talked about was Cervelli, the backup catcher, who just suffered a foot injury and will be out 4-6 weeks.

They're talking about him and they said the Yankees sent him to Charlotte to be evaluated by Dr. Robert Anderson, the top foot specialist in the nation.

THAT is the same Robert Anderson that has been overseeing the Irving rehab. He's the guy who talked them out of urgery. He's the guy Kyrie just went to Charlotte to see.

Now that he is clear to do basketball-related activities, I would assume that you give him two weeks to work his way into game shape. That may put him available to play in the first week of the tournament.
I am not sure why you would assume he will need only two weeks to get into game shape.

I do agree that it probably is not a coincidence that the cast was removed exactly 2 months after the injury and the boot was thrown away exactly 3 months after the injury. I believe doctors know exactly when he will be be ready to play (barring any hint of a setback), which is certainly within the next 4 weeks (or else Coach K would have said he is definitively out for the season).

Whether we have him for the first round of the NCAA tournament or for the Sweet 16 or for the Final Four, I think the talk of his return being detrimental to the team is poppycock. He is going to help the team. A lot. Let's just continue to hope for no setbacks.

Good to know he's in good hands. I understand now why he isn't at Duke Medical now

I assume we wouldn't play him in a game situation without some full practices - and it may be tough to do that during the first weekend of the tournament depending on whether we play Thursday/Saturday or Friday/Sunday in the first week.

Assuming we get to the second weekend, I think we see Kyrie on the court. If I am right and we win a national championship - I want the first "Order has been maintained" shirt.
Nobody really knows the timeline, but this is one of many possibilities. I think what some of us seem to be forgetting is a return by Irving to the NCAAT would really be pushing it. Sure, he COULD be back by then at 100 percent. But to think they are going to allow him to follow the quickest timeline for recovery, and throw him out there isn't very logical. Coach K has stated many times that his future is the primary focus, not getting him back in a Duke uniform. He has an NBA draft to worry about, whether it be this season or next. If this injury does not heal 100 percent, he should not and will not play. These type of injuries can be nagging and potentially career ending if arthritis sets into a toe that has not properly healed.

There's a guy on twitter harassing Kyrie so much about coming back from injury that Kyrie called him out. Reminds me of the way some people in this thread are obsessing over Kyrie like a unicorn. Not a good look for Duke fans, frankly.

Why is it so hard for people to take the coaching staff at their word?

How do we even know this "guy" is even a Duke fan?

    Hi,

Maybe the guy harassing Kyrie is a UNC guy who likes sending out tweets? The Internet makes it really hard to know.

    GO DUKE!

Yeah, the harrasment needs to end. That is ridiculous and that's not how a real Duke fan presents themselves. Duke haters view our fans as self-righteous and that's exactly the reason why. Pathetic, just pathetic.

It's pathetic and if he is a Duke fan it is a terrible way to act towards a kid who you know is trying to do everything he can to get back on the court with his brothers.

This is nuts. Doctors, K, KI, KI's dad, nor anyone else, knows anything exactly. KI is about (give or take a few weeks) ready to give it another go. #thatisall

Or, it would be if I didn't have more to say later, heh.

I would say that the no contacting recruits rule should apply for longer than just recruitment, and continue when they are players. Some would be okay (thanking them for their commitment and congratulations), but anything outside that box is out of line, and I would think the only way to be completely safe is to say none to it. If a player talks to you as a fan, that is one thing, but harassment is likely with these interactions.

So you think Duke should be punished by the NCAA for this? That wouldn't make much sense, but the NCAA can't go after anyone else other than the schools; the "rule" doesn't let the NCAA take any action against individuals. So I don't know what the point would be.

Regardless, I somehow doubt this fool qualifies as a booster (i.e., Duke grad) anyway. Probably just some random dude with a twitter account.

Could be a random guy/gal who put money on Duke to repeat at the beginning of the season.

@DMcSwainMD @kyrieirving David. He is rehabbing for the NBA Draft, not to return to help his team, and NOT for a Sophomore season.

It will NEVER change. As long you don't have to use your real name, all bets are off. Simple as that.

No, I am not meaning NCAA, but rather an extension that goes into action from the law against people who do this. On the internet or not, public people (especially college athletes) should not be harassed. It should be kind of like the bullying laws in effect for k-12 schools. Public figures should have protection (especially when he is just a kid going to college). In this day and age, it is hard to say with certainty that it is just an innocent comment rather than the obsessing of a lunatic.

    Not a Duke fan

This guy may claim to be a fan, but seriously. Even if he claims it, he isn't a true fan of Duke, obvious is his tweets.

It is a shame. Social media while great at times definitely has its ridiculous moments. I see it as motivation for Kyrie. Maybe to get back for this season

Kyrie is such a high character guy. It has been very well documented how he has handled the injury and the way he is handling this fool is more evidence of the quality man he is

I agree, and that is why I don't like fans communicating that closely with these guys who are ultimately students at the end of the day. The threats to JJ, Nolan, and disrespect to Kyrie are over the top IMO. None have ever ended up being something that haunts us, but I wish the obsessions would stop (talking about generic feelings or opinions on a forum is one thing, but having the nerve to contact these guys with these things is another matter). This isn't as bad as the Nolan thing, but them being subject to such close contact is a risk I just don't feel comfortable with.

I don't know a lot about Twitter, just started using it.
