    DVR Alert - Austin Rivers

Austin Rivers and The Winter Park High Wildcats host St Patrick this Friday night at 7:00 on ESPN 2. This will be a tough win, but Austin usually shines against tougher opponents. Being a home game will help as well. Come see the future.

    Quin Cook, too

FYI - ESPN networks to televise several HS games this Fri-Sat, including not only the game noted by OP [St. Patrick/Gilchrist at Winter Park/Rivers], but Milton (Ga) v. Oak Hill and Quin Cook. Also note Feb. 11, Oak Hill/Cook "at" [see below] Christ School/Plumlee.

    Summary of Duke-recruit games:

    Fri eve, 1/14, Rivers, ESPN2, 7:00

Sat eve, 1/15, Cook, ESPNU, 8:00

    Fri eve, 2/11, Cook & Plumlee, ESPN2, 7:30 ---- in CIS!

Austin looked uninspired in the first half but came out of the break blazin'.

The talent difference between Winter Park and St. Patrick's is clearly visible.

Austin with 35 on 22 fga to this point, I believe. The athleticism disparity is too big of a gap for Winter Park to keep pace. They have a 6'3" 190 pounder, guarding a 6'10" 250 pounder on St. Pat's.

Rivers team just does not have the horses like St. Pats but Rivers was an absolute beast. He is an incredible talent. Driving and range are definitely his strengths.

I've been impressed with Winter Park. Down by 20 at one point, possibly that much at the half. I don't remember.

They made this a game. Winter Park just couldn't match the 15 year old Shaq for St. Patrick.

Austin Rivers finished with 38 points, on 12-25 shooting I think. He did everything he could against pressure defense all night, Winter Park just didn't have the talent around him to really get close. St. Pat's won 75-66.

Agree with others. St Pat's was for sure the better team, but Austin was dazzling.

Not Plumlee's school. Plumlee plays for Christ School near Asheville.

Plumlee v. Cook, Fri 2/11 in CIS.
